Low utilization of skilled delivery services in rural sub-Saharan Africa: a case for facility delivery improvement.

Maternal mortality remains a pressing global challenge, with sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) disproportionately affected. Despite efforts to improve access to skilled delivery services, utilization remains low, especially in rural areas. This paper synthesizes the extant literature and empirical evidence from rural Ghana to highlight the critical issue of low-skilled delivery services uptake in rural SSA.

Self-management Education Program: The Case of Glycemic Control of Type 2 Diabetes.

Objectives: Self-management education (SME) is recognized globally as a tool that enables patients to achieve optimal glucose control. While factors influencing the effectiveness of self-management interventions have been studied extensively, the impact of program length on clinical endpoints of patients diagnosed with diabetes is underdeveloped. This paper synthesized information from the existing literature to understand the effect of program length on glycated hemoglobin (HbA) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Understanding and Using Patient Experience Feedback to Improve Health Care Quality: Systematic Review and Framework Development.

Patient experience data is increasingly collected worldwide; however, questions persist regarding how it is used to improve health care quality. Synthesizing information from the existing literature, we have developed an empirically based framework to help organizations and managers understand what to do with patient experience feedback to improve health care quality at the organizational level. We identified six post-data collection/analysis activities, which were categorized into three main themes: 1) make sense of the data, 2) communicate and explain the data, and 3) plan for improvement.
