The study aimed to investigate how extracts of huangqi and dangshen (referred to as SQ) affect the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) triggered by b-FGF.
Mice underwent an experiment where a substance containing b-FGF was injected, and the results were assessed by measuring hemoglobin levels and the area of new blood vessels formed in the implanted material after administering different doses of SQ or a control solution.
Results showed that lower doses of SQ promoted angiogenesis, while higher doses inhibited it, indicating that the concentration of SQ significantly influences its effect on blood vessel formation.
