Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a fatal disease that is associated with chronic inflammation in the vessel wall. Cortistatin is implicated in inflammation, vascular smooth muscle cell migration and other cardiovascular pathologies. But, the hypothetical effect of cortistatin on AAA remains uncertain.
