Background: Quadriceps tendon ruptures occur infrequently in the general population. Biomechanical data suggest advantages with the use of suture anchor fixation for major tendon repair. Clinical studies of quadriceps tendon repair have been limited to small case series.

Introduction: Social media offers physicians marketing opportunities previously unavailable. We sought to evaluate social media use and its correlation with public rankings among Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons members.
Methods: A list of members and demographics was collected.
Auxin dictates root architecture via the Auxin Response Factor (ARF) family of transcription factors, which control lateral root (LR) formation. In Arabidopsis, ARF7 regulates the specification of prebranch sites (PBS) generating LRs through gene expression oscillations and plays a pivotal role during LR initiation. Despite the importance of ARF7 in this process, there is a surprising lack of knowledge about how ARF7 turnover is regulated and how this impacts root architecture.

Methods: The Military Health System Data Repository (MDR) was queried to identify all adult patients undergoing surgical treatment of a patellar tendon rupture in the Military Health System from 2014 to 2018. Patients who underwent either transosseous tunnel repair or suture anchor repair were included.
Gemcitabine, 2'-deoxy-2',2'-difluorocytidine, is a broad spectrum oncolytic compound with antitumor activity in solid tumor models. The pharmacokinetics, metabolism, and disposition of gemcitabine was examined in mice, rats, and dogs. All three species metabolize gemcitabine by deamination to the uracil metabolite.

The rate of debenzylation was decreased by substituting deuterium for hydrogen in the methylene portion of the benzyl group. The isotope effect was measured by comparison of the reaction rates of the d0 and d2 compounds 1a and 1b and also of the d5 and d7 compounds 1c and 1d.

Both concentrates were equally effective in immediately raising the plasma levels of factor VIII, the factor VIII-related antigen, and the ristocetin-related von Willebrand factor (vWF) and in stimulating a secondary rise in plasma factor VIII. Given either concentrate, the vWF activity, the antigen, and factor VIII levels were normalized in a patient with von Willebrand disease.
