Cardiovascular diseases are the most lethal diseases worldwide, of which myocardial infarction is the leading cause of death. After myocardial infarction, in order to ensure normal blood supply to the heart, the remaining cardiomyocytes compensate for the loss of cardiomyocytes mainly by working at high capacity rather than by proliferating to produce new cardiomyocytes. This is partly due to the extremely limited ability of the adult heart to repair itself.

Ferroptosis is predominantly induced by intracellular iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, or impairments in the antioxidant defense system, culminating in membrane rupture and consequent cell death. Studies have associated ferroptosis with a wide range of diseases, and by enhancing our comprehension of its underlying mechanisms, we can formulate innovative therapeutic strategies, thereby providing renewed hope for patients.

Microbial communities living in different environments can affect the transformation of nitrogen and phosphorus in sewage pipes. Two different environments were simulated to investigate the differences in the transformation of nitrogen and phosphorus under different microbial communities in the pipe. Transformation of sulfur in sewage pipeline was affected by water flow, and the transformation laws at different locations in the sediment-water system were different. This work studied the changes of sulfur in sediments, sewage, and upper space of the sewage pipeline, analyzed the differences in microbial community under different hydraulic retention time (HRT) and depth, and focused on the transformation law of sulfur. The role of Abraxas 2 (ABRO1 or KIAA0157), a component of the lysine63-linked deubiquitinating system, in the cardiomyocyte proliferation and myocardial regeneration is unknown. Here, we found that ABRO1 regulates cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac regeneration in the postnatal heart by targeting METTL3-mediated mA methylation of Psph mRNA. The deletion of ABRO1 increased cardiomyocyte proliferation in hearts and restored the heart function after myocardial injury.
