Organic pollutants in electroplating wastewater can be removed by photodegradation, however the effect mechanism of heavy metal ions on photocatalytic activity still remains unknown. Herein, we firstly reported the self-assembly synthesis of titanium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide (TiO/rGO) composites for phenol-4-sulfonic acid (PSA) removal, and investigated the effects of Cu ions on photocatalytic efficiency. During the self-assemble process, rGO nanosheets were connected together to form network macropores, and simultaneously induced the deposition of hierarchically nanostructured TiO microspheres.

Inspired by the hierarchical architecture and biomineralization process of nacre, we firstly constructed hydroxyapatite/chitosan (HA/CH) layered composites. The brick-and-mortar characteristics of HA/CH layered composites improved their flexure strengths up to 3.

In this research, the dynamics of nitrogen transformation and bacterial community in malodorous river were investigated with different aeration depths. Computational flow dynamics (CFD) and Reynolds number (Re) were specially used to characterize the hydrodynamics condition under different aeration depths. The results indicated that aeration depth had vital impact on nitrogen transformation and bacterial community structure.

To overcome the above problem, we for the first time constructed lanthanum-doped chitosan (La-CS) hydrogels with excellent wound healing and antitumor functions. The La element was uniformly dispersed within whole hydrogels, and part of La ions reacted with CS to form La-CS complex.

Metabolic characteristics of dechlorination were the focus of this study. The result showed highly efficient dechlorination on 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol that the conversion rate reached to 100% in 9 - 24 h when initial concentrations of sodium lactate and 2,4, 6-trichlorophenol were 20 mmol x L(-1) and 40 - 80 μmol x L(-1), respectively.

The combination of mechanical activation and a chemical leaching process in a single operation (mechano-chemical leaching) is more effective than the mechanical activation and subsequent chemical leaching. More than 97% of Pb in the CRT funnel glass can be extracted with a stirring ball mill leaching process in 5 M sodium hydroxide at 70°C.
