Background: Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a whole millet grain that has been considered for improving the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism. The purpose of the work is to explore the extraction and enrichment of polyphenols from foxtail millets which can regulate the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism by increasing endogenous GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1).

Results: The optimum ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of foxtail millet polyphenols (FMPs) was as follows: 70 °C and 400 W and 70% ethanol concentration, further purification using macroporous resin.

Aberrant expression of long non‑coding RNA (lncRNA) plays an important role in malignant progression of colon cancer and has become a new therapeutic target. In the present study, it was found that the expression of a novel lncRNA 495810 was significantly upregulated in colon cancer and correlated with poor prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer. The highly expressed lncRNA 495810 promoted the proliferation and inhibited apoptosis of CRC cells.

A novel electrochemical DNA sensor was designed to detect Helicobacter pylori based on accordion-like TiCT. Here the multilayer TiCT obtained by DMSO delamination was used to modify the glass carbon electrode, with a large specific surface area and excellent conductivity. Au nanoparticles were supported on the modified electrode and worked as an effective carrier to fix the capture probe (cpDNA) with sulfhydryl group through the firm binding of Au-S bond.
