Acceleration of amyloid deposition by administration of amyloid fibrils and transmissibility of disease have been reported in several types of amyloidoses. Families with a variant transthyretin (TTR V30M)-associated familial amyloidotic polyneuropathy (FAP) exhibit genetic anticipation, with TTR V30M-amyloid depositing at an earlier age in successive generations. The molecular bases of anticipation in FAP have remained to be determined.

In addition, the origin of amyloid proteins by immunohistochemical staining with a panel of anticytokeratin monoclonal antibodies was investigated. Amyloid deposits were found in eight of 73 (11.

Objective: To investigate the cause, prognosis and the treatment of fetal distress in pregnant women with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
Methods: eighty one pregnant women and their newborns were selected. The HBV surface antigen (HBsAg), e antigen (HBeAg), core antibody (HBcAb) and deoxyribonucleic acid (HBV DNA) was positive and the hepatic function normal.
We herein report that experimental murine amyloid A (AA) deposition is accelerated by oral administration of semipurified amyloid fibrils extracted from different species. Three groups of mice were treated with semipurified murine AA amyloid fibrils, semipurified bovine AA amyloid fibrils or semipurified human light chain-derived (A(lambda)) amyloid fibrils for 10 days. After 3 weeks, each mouse was subjected to inflammatory stimulation by subcutaneous injection with a mixture of complete Freund's adjuvant supplemented with Mycobacterium butyricum.
