Increased understanding of secreted proteins could lead to improved prediction and treatment of NAFLD. Here, we aimed to discover novel secreted proteins in humans that are associated with hepatic fat content using unbiased proteomic profiling strategy, and how the identified Thbs1 modulates lipid metabolism and hepatic steatosis.

Applying a global DEA model based on non-radial directional distance function, this paper constructs a comprehensive efficiency index to estimate green development level and further identifies the influencing mechanism of technology R&D on green development in China's industrial sector. The results demonstrate that the level of green development in China's industrial sector declined year by year and the average was 0.27, and it also shows significant regional characteristics within the sample period.

Despite the fact that there have been studies on root biology, information on genes that are specifically expressed or upregulated in roots is poorly collected. There exist very few databases dedicated to genes and promoters associated with root biology, preventing effective root-related studies.

Here, we evaluate the efficacies and pharmacokinetics of B1344, a long-acting polyethylene glycolylated (PEGylated) fibroblast growth factor 21 analog, in a nongenetically modified nonhuman primate species that underwent liver biopsy and demonstrate the potential for efficacies in humans. B1344 is sufficient to selectively activate signaling from the βKlotho/FGFR1c receptor complex.

However, the epidemic patterns and genetic variability of HAdV-7 circulating in mainland China have not been well elucidated. In this study, we used Chinese HAdV sentinel surveillance data obtained from 2012-2015 to investigate the clinical features of 122 HAdV-7-positive cases and performed amplification and sequence determination of three capsid genes (penton base, hexon, and fiber) from 69 isolated viruses covering from seven provinces of China.

Here, the temperature dependence of lattice structure for indium selenide (InSe) nanosheets and the corresponding electronic properties of 3 nm indium-deposited InSe field-effect transistors (FETs) are systematically demonstrated. Analyses of Raman spectra suggest that the difference of phonon frequency (Δω) for the A[Formula: see text] mode is found to be 3.

However, a measles epidemic caused resurgence recently, even among vaccinated individuals. To evaluate the effectiveness of current immunization programs and discuss initiatives for the next step in measles elimination in mainland China, the characteristics of 121,969 laboratory-confirmed measles cases reported in the measles surveillance system (MSS) during 2014-2018 were analyzed according to the vaccination status of the cases in this study.

We found that integrin β1 (Intgβ1) was the dominant integrin β unit in iPSCs that mediates the adhesion of circulatory and endothelial cells (ECs). Intgβ1 knockout or Intgβ1-siRNAs inhibit iPSC adhesion and migration across activated endothelial monolayers.

Herein, a novel temperature-sensitive photodetector based on the GaSe/VO mixed-dimensional vdW heterostructure is discovered.

Pitch perception involves the processing of multidimensional acoustic cues, and listeners can exhibit different cue integration strategies in interpreting pitch. This study aims to examine whether musicality and language experience have effects on listeners' pitch perception strategies. Both Mandarin and English listeners were recruited to participate in two experiments: (1) a pitch classification experiment that tested their relative reliance on f0 and spectral cues, and (2) the Montreal Battery of Evaluation of Musical Abilities that objectively quantified their musical aptitude as continuous musicality scores.

Our previous studies have provided evidence for the existence of two leptin genes (lepa and lepb) and one leptin receptor (lepr) gene in a flatfish, the half-smooth tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis). However, the spatial-temporal expression patterns and possible roles of the leptin system during early development and ovarian maturation are still poorly understood in teleosts.

However, only intrinsic in-plane piezoelectricity exists in these 2D materials and the piezoelectric effect is confined in odd-layers of TMDs. The present work is intent on combining the free-standing design and piezoresponse force microscopy techniques to obtain and directly quantify the effective out-of-plane electromechanical coupling induced by strain gradient on atomically thin MoS and InSe flakes.
