SVD-clustering, a general image-analyzing method explained and demonstrated on model and Raman micro-spectroscopic maps.

An image analyzing method (SVD-clustering) is presented. Amplitude vectors of SVD factorization (V…V) were introduced into the imaging of the distribution of the corresponding U basis-spectra. Since each V vector contains each point of the map, plotting them along the X, Y, Z dimensions of the map reconstructs the spatial distribution of the corresponding U basis-spectrum.

Recent advances in biohydrogen research.

A fundamental and principal difficulty of the future energy supply is that the formation of fossil fuels is much slower than the rate of their exploitation. Therefore the reserves which can be recovered in an energetically feasible manner are shrinking parallel with an increasing world-wide energy demand. Among the alternative energy carriers, hydrogen is preferred because it is easy to transport and store and it burns to environmentally friendly water vapour when utilized.
