Background/aims: The resection of colorectal liver metastases is currently a well accepted and effective treatment. In the past decade liver metastases of breast cancer have been treated more frequently by surgical intervention.

Methodology: The authors retrospectively studied the data of 17 operated patients, and investigated the clinical features of liver metastases, lymph node involvement of primary tumor, the indications of operations, and early and late results of the treatment.

Primary Raynaud's disease is generally a disease of younger females; however, there are cases where symptoms present over the age of 40. These cases are described as late onset. In our current prospective study we compared the characteristics of early and late onset types of primary Raynaud's in 127 patients.

PURPOSE: Study of thyroid function in Hodgkin's disease patients in complete remission. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We examined the thyroid function of 160 Hodgkin's disease patients in complete remission for at least one year, and determined the values of supersensitive thyroid stimulating hormone (sTSH), free T4 (fT4), free T3 (fT3) hormones. RESULTS: Normal values were observed in 117 patients, subclinical change (only elevated sTSH) in 28 patients, clinical hypothyroidism in 14 patients (also low fT4 and/or fT3), hyperthyroidism (Basedow's disease) in one patient.
