This paper highlights the importance of anatomical specific shear sensor calibration and presents a feasibility study of a novel shear sensing system which has measured in-shoe shear stress from gait activity on both healthy and diabetic subjects. The primary aim of this study was to describe resilience levels for trauma patients using the validated Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale.
Methods: Adult trauma patients admitted to a Level 1 trauma center (June 2022-August 2022) were surveyed at the time of admission and by phone between 2 weeks and 1 month after the original survey to obtain follow-up scores.
Background: Inefficient clinical workflows can have downstream effects of increased costs, poor resource utilization, and worse patient outcomes. The surgical consultation process can be complex with unclear communication, potentially delaying care for patients requiring time-sensitive intervention in an acute setting. Our recent discovery that two of the three human ATL paralogs (ATL1/2) are C-terminally autoinhibited implied that relief of autoinhibition would be integral to the ATL fusion mechanism. An alternative hypothesis is that the third paralog ATL3 promotes constitutive ER fusion with relief of ATL1/2 autoinhibition used conditionally.

The aim of this project was to improve efficiency of patient care while simultaneously increasing revenue by reducing LOS and transitioning high-cost chemotherapy to the outpatient setting.

Viruses must effectively remodel host cellular pathways to replicate and evade immune defenses, and they must do so with limited genomic coding capacity. Targeting post-translational modification (PTM) pathways provides a mechanism by which viruses can broadly and rapidly transform a hostile host environment into a hospitable one. We use mass spectrometry-based proteomics to quantify changes in protein abundance and two PTM types-phosphorylation and ubiquitination-in response to HIV-1 infection with viruses harboring targeted deletions of a subset of HIV-1 genes.
