Background: The commercial determinants of health is a rapidly expanding field of research; however Indigenous perspectives remain notably underrepresented. For Indigenous peoples the intersection of globalisation, colonialism and capitalism may amplify commercially-driven health inequities. This study aimed to explore the perspectives of Aboriginal leaders regarding the influence of commercial activities on Aboriginal health and wellbeing in Victoria, Australia.

We undertook content and framing analysis of Australian newspaper and online media articles published between January 2018 and March 2022 that included terms related to 'Indigenous', 'commercial' and 'health'. Analysis focused on the nature of coverage, framing of responsibility, patterns over time and stakeholder representation.

This is partly because of the complexity associated with monitoring dynamic food environments. Crowdsourcing is a citizen science approach that can increase the extent and nature of food environment data collection by engaging citizens as sensors or volunteered computing experts.

The alcohol industry is a key driver of health and social harms within Australia. In 2016 Woolworths, the largest food and beverage retailer in Australia, proposed to build a Dan Murphy's alcohol megastore in Darwin, near three 'dry' Aboriginal communities.

Social and cultural determinants of Indigenous health and well-being are well described. Despite emerging literature on the commercial determinants of health, the health and well-being impacts of commercial activities for Indigenous populations is not well understood.

The evaluation of 24-hour central blood pressure (24h cBP) combines the cBP non-invasive assessment with the 24-h ambulatory BP measurement. The major strength of the 24-h cBP evaluation is the ability to assess the degree of circadian changes between central and peripheral BP, namely 24-h BP amplification. This allows an accurate quantification of the degree of spatial and temporal BP variability in each single individual.

Inhibition of the RAS with angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (ACE-Is) or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) has proved to be a successful strategy for the treatment of hypertension and related cardiovascular disorders. However, by reducing feedback inhibition of renin release, the effects of ACE-Is and ARBs lead to an increase in plasma renin concentration (PRC) and activity (PRA), limiting a complete inhibition of the RAS.

Lesions affecting Bartholin's gland can be divided into two groups: benign and malignant lesions. In the first group we can include nodular hyperplasia, adenoma, adenomioma which can sometimes cause Bartholin's gland enlargement and difficult differential diagnosis.

Methods: We prospectively evaluated 172 women with a solid lesion of the breast less than 3 cm in diameter and no evidence of axillary lymph node involvement on physical examination, ultrasound, and mammography. Thereafter, all patients underwent excision of the lesion, and, if pathology was positive for cancer, quadrantectomy and axillary lymph node dissection independently by the results of scintimammography.
Objective: Previous studies report that enhanced power in the delta range (1.5-4Hz) and reduced power in the alpha frequency band (8-12Hz) were most pronounced in the temporal regions. These studies referred to the 8-12Hz activity as tau activity, and they created a new neurofeedback protocol to treat tinnitus using a temporally generated tau rhythm (8-12Hz) and slow waves in the delta range (3-4Hz) for feedback.

Methodology: One hundred tinnitus patients were evaluated by the tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) at the beginning of the study and after nine months of treatment. All subjects were submitted to counselling and sound enrichment from the simple sound amplification provided by the open ear canal hearing aids.
Tinnitus patients without hearing loss or hyperacusis often start tinnitus retraining therapy but do not return to the tinnitus clinic for follow-up visits. The aim of this study was to evaluate how these 'missing patients' feel and whether they still use their sound generators after they discontinue retraining therapy. We interviewed 269 tinnitus patients by phone who never returned to the clinic after receiving initial counseling and a generator for sound enrichment.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the most common instruments used to quantify tinnitus and the level of anxiety and depression experienced by patients in order to provide a guideline for otolaryngologists.
Study Design: Cross-sectional survey.
Subjects And Methods: A total of 108 tinnitus patients were submitted to a series of instruments, including Visual Analogue Scales (VAS), Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI), State Trait Anxiety Inventory Form Y (STAI-T), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI).
Aims And Background: The incidence of breast cancer increases with advancing age and in clinical practice approximately 50% of new cases occur in women over the age of 65 years. Although breast cancer in elderly patients presents more favorable biological characteristics than similar-stage cancer in younger women, disease control still remains uncertain and is becoming a major health problem.
Patients And Methods: Between 1984 and 2006, 133 patients aged over 65 with operable breast cancer underwent surgical treatment.
There is widespread recognition that consistency between research centres in the ways that patients with tinnitus are assessed and outcomes following interventions are measured would facilitate more effective co-operation and more meaningful evaluations and comparisons of outcomes. At the first Tinnitus Research Initiative meeting held in Regensburg in July 2006 an attempt was made through workshops to gain a consensus both for patient assessments and for outcome measurements. It is hoped that this will contribute towards better cooperation between research centres in finding and evaluating treatments for tinnitus by allowing better comparability between studies.

The tinnitus disorder affects about 10-15% of the population and, in one person out of a hundred, it is a disabling disorder. TRT treatment is based on Jastreboff's neurophysiological model.

This study was undertaken to estimate bone Pb concentrations by L-line x-ray fluorescence (LXRF) in a United States suburban population which was exposed to unusually high levels of Pb in emissions from an adjacent factory during 1963-1981, compared with concentrations similarly estimated in a matched suburban community without unusual Pb exposure. The mean bone Pb value in 269 residents of the highly exposed suburb (15 ppm) was 3-fold greater than that of the reference suburb (5 ppm).
