Water is essential at various stages of winemaking, from irrigation in the vineyard to cleaning equipment and facilities, controlling fermentation temperatures, and diluting grape juice if necessary. Additionally, water is used for sanitation purposes to ensure the quality and safety of the final product. This article provides an overview of the existing knowledge regarding the use of water in wineries throughout the winemaking process, water consumption values, effluent treatment, efficient use of water measures, and water reuse.

Objective: To assess the prevalence of adherence to recommendations for the consumption of dietary fatty acids for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and to estimate whether the presence of certain cardiovascular risk factors would be associated with adherence.
Methods: Cross-sectional study using baseline data from 2,358 participants included in the "Brazilian Cardioprotective Nutritional Program Trial".
Water abstraction for the industrial, domestic, and agricultural sectors increased from 0.67 trillion m/year in the 1900s to 3.79 trillion m/year in 2000, and it is expected to increase by 55 % in 2050 when the majority of the world's population will live in urban areas.

However, the quality of the diet is influenced by several factors. The present study aimed to evaluate the quality of the diet of individuals with cardiovascular diseases and determine whether there is an association between sociodemographic and lifestyle factors.

The solid-state structure of the compounds was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The solution behavior of both complexes was investigated, namely their solubility, stability, and lipophilicity in physiological mimetic conditions, as well as an eventual uptake by passive diffusion.

We report the synthesis, characterization and biological effect of mixed-ligand Fe(III)-aminophenolate complexes derived from salicylaldehyde and L-tryptophan with quinoline derivatives as co-ligands, namely 8-hydroxyquinoline (8HQ), [Fe(L)(8HQ)(HO)] (1) and its 5-cloro derivative (Cl8HQ), [Fe(L)(Cl8HQ)(HO)] (2). The complex bearing the aminophenolate and lacking the quinoline co-ligand, [Fe(L)(Cl)(HO)] (3), was prepared for comparison.

In patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) is increasingly used to genotype the epidermal growth factor receptor () gene in circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA). However, the sensitivity of this method is still under debate.

Unlabelled: Synchronous tumours are defined as two or more independent primary neoplasms of different origins diagnosed at the same time in 1 individual. Although rare, its incidence is increasing and the proper diagnosis and staging of each tumour is crucial in defining the patient prognosis and the best therapeutic choice. We present a case of a 56-year-old woman presenting with a lung adenocarcinoma and pulmonary metastases initially diagnosed as stage IV and who was started on a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (erlotinib).

Given the economic and cultural significance attributed to wine production in Portugal and in the world, it is crucial that research be undertaken to understand how water is used in wine industry in order to increase the efficient use of this vital resource. The study aimed to measure, evaluate and discuss the water consumption in three wineries with different production volumes.

Background: Appropriate dietary recommendations represent a key part of secondary prevention in cardiovascular disease (CVD). We evaluated the effectiveness of the implementation of a nutritional program on quality of diet, cardiovascular events, and death in patients with established CVD.
Methods: In this open-label, multicenter trial conducted in 35 sites in Brazil, we randomly assigned (1:1) patients aged 45 years or older to receive either the BALANCE Program (experimental group) or conventional nutrition advice (control group).
Background And Objective: Recent studies have related the consumption of ultra-processed foods with the development of cardiovascular diseases and have considered this relation with excessive sodium intake. While Brazilian studies have analysed that this consumption may have no direct relationship with the processing, but rather with the addition of salt. The purpose of this study is to investigate the contribution of the consumption of processed products in the daily intake of sodium ingestion by atherosclerotic disease patients.
