Comparison of Craniofacial Anthropometric Measurement Accuracy of Manual Technique vs. Cone-Beam CT Scanning.

Background: This study aimed to compare the accuracy of linear measurements obtained using the classical (manual) method versus cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in craniofacial anthropometry, specifically targeting the infraorbital foramen (IOF).

Methods: This study involved two sample groups: one of 40 dry skulls measured manually using digital calipers, and the other of 40 CBCT 3D images digitally measured. Measurements included IOF height, distances between the IOF and nasion (N), IOF and frontomalar orbital (FMO), and between the two IOFs.

Hereditary Thrombophilia in the Era of COVID-19.

Thrombophilia, also called hypercoagulability or prothrombotic condition, usually reflects a certain imbalance that occurs either in the coagulation cascade or in the anticoagulation/fibrinolytic system. A similar imbalance may be induced by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Thrombotic complications are associated with multiorgan failure and increased mortality.

Multiple Faces of Cervical Lesions in Children.

Pediatric sialolithiasis is a rare condition causing tumefaction, induration, redness, and pain of the affected gland. When the submandibular gland is involved, the lesion can be mistaken for an adenopathy. As there are few studies to elucidate this condition in children, we present a rare case of a 16-year-old female with suggestive symptoms, in which initial clinical examination and two ultrasound examinations mistook the lesion for an adenopathy.

Unusual Case of Masseter Muscle Hypertrophy in Adolescence-Case Report and Literature Overview.

Unilateral hypertrophy of the masseter muscle is a very rare pathological entity in children. Its etiology is uncertain and it requires a high degree of suspicion, as it must be differentiated from other conditions of the masseter area. As there are few pathological studies to elucidate this condition, we report a rare case of unilateral masseter muscle hypertrophy in a 16-year-old female patient with gradual onset of a painless swelling in the posterior left cheek which caused facial asymmetry with repercussions on the patient's self-image.

Odontogenic orbital inflammation.

This study aimed to determine the most frequent clinical aspects in patients with odontogenic orbital inflammation, the computed tomography (CT) aspect, and the most appropriate treatment. This is a retrospective case-series study conducted on 3 patients with ages between 16 and 55 years old, in the Ophthalmology and Oro-Maxillo-Facial Clinics of "Sf. Spiridon" Emergency Hospital, Iași, Romania.

Clinical-pathological correlations in Warthin tumors of parotid gland: a series of 10 cases.

Warthin tumor is described using various terms, such as papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum, adenolymphoma or monomorphic adenoma. It is a medical condition related to the salivary glands, namely a benign cystic tumor which contains an epithelial component and an abundant lymphoid stroma. It is also named Warthin tumor after Aldred Scott Warthin, the pathologist who described this entity in 1929 by observing it in two patients.

[Cutaneous carcinoma of the face. Clinical and histopathological forms. Retrospective study of 308 cases].

Unlabelled: Cutaneous carcinomas are the most frequent malignant tumors, the majority of them being located on the face, scalp and back.

Aim: To assess the clinical presentation and pathology aspects of the patients with face skin carcinomas admitted to our clinic.

Material And Methods: The retrospective study was carried out on a series of 308 patients diagnosed and treated for cutaneous carcinoma of the face in the Department of Oral and Facial Surgery of lasi over a period of 5 years (January 2006 - December 2010).
