Objective: To systematically review existing research exploring the effectiveness of psychological interventions in reducing symptoms of distress amongst refugee and asylum-seeker children.

Method: Six databases were searched to identify English studies presenting original empirical quantitative data (published before September 2022) testing the efficacy of psychological interventions for children from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds. Quality of studies were assessed through the Appraisal Tool for Cross-Sectional Studies as well as the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool.

Here, a case of Paget-Schroetter Syndrome in a 25-year-old guitar player is reported. After thrombolysis, conventional angioplasty failed to dilate the underlying subclavian stenosis both before and after first-rib excision with scalenus anterior and medius division. For the third attempt at angioplasty, a cutting balloon was used, which immediately produced a good result.

We report our initial experience using the Amplatzer Vascular Plug II (AVP2) in the treatment of a left common iliac aneurysm. Following investigation by computerized tomographic angiography and catheter angiography, a 79-year-old man was found to have a markedly tortuous iliac system, with a left common iliac artery aneurysm that measured 48 mm in maximal diameter. Due to the patient's age and comorbidities the surgical opinion was that conventional open repair was not suitable.

Optically clear, surfactant loaded poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA) hydrogels can be used to prevent fouling on optical windows of marine underwater sensors. To act successfully in this capacity, hydrogels need to prevent both microfouling and macrofouling. Purpose: The decision to intervene surgically in patients with carotid artery disease is based on the presence of symptoms, along with the severity of carotid artery stenosis as assessed by ultrasound or X-ray computed tomography (CT). Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a relatively new imaging technique that offers potential in the identification of, as well as the distinction between, stable and unstable atherosclerotic plaques. However, despite this improvement in their durability they are subject to biofouling on their optical ports resulting in erroneous readings. Biofilm formation on the optical ports of cameras and underwater sensors is the primary cause of their reduced useful deployment time. The use of a transparent hydrogel coating containing the cationic surfactant benzalkonium chloride has been shown to extend the deployment times for up to 12 weeks for these instruments. In order to predict the effective lifetime of these coatings it was necessary to obtain the diffusion coefficient of the benzalkonium chloride used in the coatings.

The cytotoxic regimen of epirubicin, cisplatin, and continuous infusional 5-fluorouracil (ECF) has demonstrated activity in a range of malignancies, including gastroesophageal, breast, and pancreatic cancers. Prolonged infusional central venous catheter (CVC) mediated therapy is not always feasible and modifications of the 5-fluorouracil (5FU) schedule have been reported.
