Socio-legal consequences of Tourette Syndrome and its comorbidities: A case study and review of the literature.

Tourette Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is associated with the presence of multiple motor and one or more verbal tics. In this case report, we present a 16 years old Tourette syndrome patient who was diagnosed with comorbid Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The patient was evaluated for legal responsibility after she made untrue allegations saying that a bus driver had sexually harassed her.

Image analysis as an adjunct to sodium rhodizonate test in the evaluation of gunshot residues: an experimental study.

It is important to investigate the clothing, as well as the body, to determine the range of fire of entry wounds in firearm injuries. Clothing can affect the amount of gunshot residues (GSR) reaching the body and their distribution. The amount and distribution of the GSR also vary according to the distance between the firearm and the target.

Determination of gunshot residues with image analysis: an experimental study.

In firearm injuries, assessment of the firing range and determination of entrance and exit wounds are important. For this reason, evaluation of the amount and distribution of gunshot residues (GSRs) is necessary. Several methods and techniques for GSR analysis have been developed.

Prevalence of Demodex in health personnel working in the autopsy room.

The health personnel working in the autopsy rooms and laboratories are considered among the professional groups carrying a high risk of contamination with infection. In this study, we have investigated the prevalence of Demodex, which provides a convenient environment for bacteria and acts as a vector for certain microorganisms, in the health personnel working in autopsy rooms. The study, which was cross-sectional, was conducted on 58 health personnel working in autopsy rooms.

Unusual torture methods and mass murders applied by a terror organization.

This study aims at describing autopsy findings of 19 victims killed by various torture methods applied by a terror organization after they had been kidnapped by this organization, as well as the unusual and unique binding style applied during these killings. The present study also aims at describing the unusual killing method of binding for literature and discussing international descriptions of torture.

Pleural effusion in bodies recovered from water.

Both in saltwater and freshwater drowning cases, a common autopsy sign is pleural effusion. However, the factors that determine the amount of pleural effusion have not been well established. An attempt was therefore made to correlate the amount of pleural fluid in bodies recovered from water with several parameters registered on the judicial files as well as autopsy findings from the years 1994-1998.
