The structural configurations of Mg-related defects were studied by the electron emission channeling technique for short-lived, radioactive Mg implantations at the CERN-ISOLDE facility, performed both at room temperature and 800 °C, which allowed the identification of a major fraction of Mg atoms (∼30 to 42%) in sites which are compatible with the split-vacancy structure of the MgV complex. A smaller fraction of Mg atoms (∼13 to 17%) was found on substitutional sites.

Summary: We report the case of a patient with an unusual association of GHD due to ectopic posterior pituitary and CM-1. Our patient developed a headache and worsening of CM-1 after the initiation of rhGH therapy.
Purpose: The definition of chronic adult hydrocephalus encompasses different pathological entities with overlapping characteristics, including long-standing overt ventriculomegaly in adults (LOVA), late-onset idiopathic aqueductal stenosis (LIAS) and idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH). The aim of our study was to identify preoperative clinical and radiological features peculiar of these diseases providing some pathophysiology inferences on these forms of hydrocephalus.
Methods: Clinical and radiological preoperative records, type of surgical treatment and clinical outcome of patients with chronic adult hydrocephalus who were surgically treated between 2013 and 2019 were retrospectively reviewed.
Intraventricular hemorrhage and the subsequent development of posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus (PHH) is one of the most serious complication of prematurity, especially in extremely low birth weight infants. Neurodevelopmental delay, epilepsy, and severe cognitive impairment represent common sequelae of PHH. A ventriculoperitoneal shunt insertion in such premature infants is associated with higher rates of skin erosion, infection, and shunt failure.

Advancements in neuroimaging and refinements to anatomical dissection techniques of the human brain white matter contributed to the recent description of the FAT anatomical and functional connectivity and its role in the pathogenesis of several neurological, psychiatric, and neurosurgical disorders. Through the application of diffusion tractography and intraoperative electrical brain stimulation, the FAT was shown to have a role in speech and language functions (verbal fluency, initiation and inhibition of speech, sentence production, and lexical decision), working memory, visual-motor activities, orofacial movements, social community tasks, attention, and music processing.
