Retrospective cohort study that used registries and medical records from a single hospital (June 2022 to April 2024). Adult patients with RA, PsA, and axSpA treated with adalimumab biosimilar MSB11022 who switched to biosimilar GP2017 were identified and followed up until April 2024, or disenrollment.

The Pan American Health Organization's Revolving Fund for Access to Vaccines (the Revolving Fund) is a shared pool of funds for the procurement of vaccines, syringes, and cold-chain equipment for the Member States of the Organization. With a view to evaluating the results obtained during the Revolving Fund's operation and analyzing its contributions to achievements in immunization, a review was conducted of historical documents and grey literature related to the Fund's history and current processes, as well as data from platforms fed by countries' annual reports, with reference to growth indicators, burden of vaccine-preventable diseases, introduction of new vaccines in the Region of the Americas, and lessons learned. In its 43 years of operation, the Revolving Fund has grown and contributed to the introduction of new vaccines, and the Region has made rapid progress in the field of immunization.

The objective of the present study was to investigate the potential molecular mechanisms responsible for corticosteroid insensitivity in pediatric asthma.

Methods: Asthmatic children were classified as good (GSR) or poor corticosteroid responders (PSR) based on the changes in pulmonary function following GC treatment.

Overcoming challenges to sustainable immunization financing: early experiences from GAVI graduating countries.

Over the 5-year period ending in 2018, 16 countries with a combined birth cohort of over 6 million infants requiring life-saving immunizations are scheduled to transition (graduate) from outside financial and technical support for a number of their essential vaccines. This support has been provided over the past decade by the GAVI Alliance. Will these 16 countries be able to continue to sustain these vaccination efforts? To address this issue, GAVI and its partners are supporting transition planning, entailing country assessments of readiness to graduate and intensive dialogue with national officials to ensure a smooth transition process.

Flow-induced wall mechanics of patient-specific aneurysmal cerebral arteries: Nonlinear isotropic versus anisotropic wall stress.

Fluid-structure interaction simulations of three patient-specific models of cerebral aneurysms were carried out with the objective of quantifying the effects of non-Newtonian blood flow and the vessel mechanical behavior on the time-dependent fluid shear and normal stresses, and structural stress and stretch. The average wall shear stress at peak systole was found to be approximately one order of magnitude smaller than the shear stresses in the proximal communicating arteries, regardless of the shape or size of the aneurysms. Spatial distributions of oscillatory shear index were consistent with the reciprocal of wall shear stress distributions at peak systole for all aneurysm geometries, demonstrating that oscillatory shear index correlates inversely with wall shear at this time point in the cardiac cycle.

Population genetic structure of Cichla pleiozona (Perciformes: Cichlidae) in the Upper Madera basin (Bolivian Amazon): sex-biased dispersal?

This study investigates the population structure of the Tucunaré (Cichla pleiozona) in the Bolivian Amazon (Upper Madera) by using nuclear (EPIC-PCR, 67 individuals) and mitochondrial (Control Region, 41 published and 76 new sequences) DNA analyses, in relation with ecological (water quality: muddy, clear and mix) and geographic factors. Our analyses of both markers showed the highest diversity in clear waters (Yata, Middle and Upper Iténez), and the existence of two populations in muddy waters (Sécure and Ichilo) and one in mix waters (Manuripi). On the other hand, mitochondrial analyses identified three populations in clear waters where nuclear analyses identified a panmictic population.

The study was carried out in presence of different concentrations of HCl and HNO(3). A single extraction with D2EHP in cyclohexane using nitric acid as matrix was sufficient to reduce the U(3)O(8) concentration from 100 g/l to 100 microg/ml.
