Problem: Graduate education for specialty practice palliative APRNs lacks consistency in structure, content, and standardization of specialty palliative APRN education.
Approach: A workgroup of expert palliative APRNs and graduate faculty conducted focused discussions and a literature review to develop consensus recommendations based on national palliative APRN competencies and aligned with the 8 core concepts of the AACN Essentials.
Shared decision making is a concept essential to establishing meaningful goals of care that reflect one's preferences, values, beliefs, culture, and quality of life. This rapid review considered shared decision making from the perspective of seriously ill or medically complex children receiving inpatient palliative or end-of-life care, where shared decision making is made on behalf of and in the child's best interest. A total of 118 articles were screened, resulting in the selection of 12 articles using a systematic process.

Depression can worsen physical suffering and psychiatric distresses in individuals with life-limiting illnesses and is associated with increased rates of pain, fatigue, dyspnea, and worse survival outcomes. Evidence supports protocol development to address depression in the hospice setting using validated screening tools and a process for referral and treatment. After protocol development and integration of validated screening tools into the electronic medical record, newly admitted patients meeting inclusion criteria were screened during the social workers' initial psychosocial assessment.

We aimed to identify a precedent for clinical care and patient outcomes to guide family decision-making.
Methods: This non-funded and non-registered study queried the entire CDH Registry (CDHR) including >10,000 patients since 1995 and conducted a systematic literature review for patients with concomitant ES and CDH.
Objective: Emergency ultrasound (EUS) has become an integral part of emergency medicine, and the core pillars of governance, infrastructure, administration, education and quality assurance (QA) are vital for its quality and continued growth. We aimed to assess the status of these vital pillars among Australasian EDs.
Methods: A survey among the clinical leads in ultrasound (CLUS) in Australasian EDs from November 2020 to April 2021.

Problem: There has been a lack of primary palliative care education in most graduate nursing programs and little direction as to competencies and essential content.
Approach: In an effort to support faculty to teach palliative care content, the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) has created an online curriculum that meets the new American Association of Colleges of Nursing Graduate-Competencies and Recommendations for Educating Nursing Students in primary palliative care for master's degree and doctor of nursing practice students.
Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) aims to improve perioperative care, hasten recovery to the normal physiological state and shorten length of stay (LoS). There is evidence that ERAS programmes following elective caesarean section (ELCS) confer benefit through faster return to physiological state and reduced LoS for mother and baby. Baseline audit of ELCS in 2013 revealed a mean LoS of 3 days.
