Road mortality adversely affects wildlife populations. As urbanization and infrastructure densities expand, transportation and wildlife management aim to mitigate wildlife-vehicle conflicts while conserving biodiversity. Background: Acute patellar dislocation (APD) is a common knee injury in children. The pattern and frequency of injury to the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) is different in pediatric compared with adult populations.
Purpose: To report on injury patterns sustained to the MPFL after APD in children and to determine whether predisposing factors for APD cited in adults hold true in the pediatric population.
An effective transcervical method for fluoroscopically guided fallopian tube occlusion has long been sought for female sterilization. The Essure permanent birth control device was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in November 2002 and is currently indicated for hysteroscopic placement. In a series of eight patients, bilateral Essure microcoils were placed with fluoroscopic guidance in seven patients for a success rate of 87.
