Influence of the hydroperoxide structure on the reactivity and mechanical properties of self-cure dental composites.

Objectives: Hydroperoxides are key constituents of two-component dental materials. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of the hydroperoxide structure on the reactivity and on the mechanical properties of self-cure composites.

Methods: Hydroperoxides HP1-3 were synthesized by selective catalytic oxidation of the corresponding para-substituted cumene precursors and isolated in high purity.
