First report of f. sp. causing wilt on greenhouse-grown lettuce in North Carolina.

In August 2023, butterhead lettuce ( L.) presented wilting, chlorosis, and about 2 cm of reddish-tan internal discoloration in the crown from a commercial greenhouse in Orange County, North Carolina. Plant collapse beginning with the outer leaves near the soil surface was observed with 25% disease incidence.
