The association between acute pancreatitis and severe hypertriglyceridemia has long been recognized. We report two cases of severe primary hypertriglyceridemia (types 1 and V) with recurrent acute pancreatitis. In both patients, observance of appropriate diet and drug therapy was insufficient.
