Aim: To classify and analyze incidents reported by an Anesthesiology division at a University hospital in Chile.
The surgical process requires the coordination of a number of professionals who understand their own roles and responsibilities, as well as those of the team. In the perioperative setting, expectations are established around behaviors and competencies of every team member. These expectations are influenced by knowledge, training and experience, and may ultimately influence results and the ability to adapt and respond to work demands.
