Iliac vein aneurysms are extremely rare, even amongst vein aneurysms. We discuss the case of a 26-year-old man with an external iliac vein aneurysm, likely secondary to iatrogenic vascular trauma in the neonatal period. It is the first reported case of an iliac vein aneurysm presenting with lower urinary tract symptoms.

Objectives: Fusion of three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography and intraoperative two-dimensional imaging in endovascular surgery relies on manual rigid co-registration of bony landmarks and tracking of hardware to provide a 3D overlay (hardware-based tracking, HWT). Methods: Renal outcomes following TAAA endovascular repair performed with renal branches were collected from five high volume European centers and compared with renal outcomes following TAAA endovascular repair performed with renal fenestrations at one center. Renal re-intervention and occlusion rates, and freedom from any renal outcome and death were analyzed by patient and target vessel.

A staged stent graft repair was undertaken due to rapid expansion of the aneurysms, which involved placement of multiple thoracic quadruple-fenestrated and infrarenal bifurcated stent grafts. Despite complications of an aortoesophageal fistula and transitory spinal cord ischemia, she has been managed successfully and is doing well at 36 months.

A retrospective review of intracranial electrographic data was undertaken to establish whether it is possible to distinguish between unilateral and bilateral mesial temporal lobe epilepsy based on ictal onset patterns, including periodic preictal spiking.
Methods: A total of 470 ictal onset patterns were analyzed by bitemporal extraoperative electrocorticography in 13 patients with medically intractable mesial temporal lobe epilepsy.
The redeployed drug combination of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate (designated BaP) has potent in vivo anticancer activity in acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and endemic Burkitt lymphoma (eBL) patients; however, its mechanism-of-action is unclear. Given that elevated fatty acid biosynthesis is a hallmark of many cancers and that these drugs can affect lipid metabolism, we hypothesized that BaP exerts anticancer effects by disrupting lipogenesis. We applied mass spectrometry-based lipidomics and gene and protein expression measurements of key lipogenic enzymes [acetyl CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1), fatty acid synthase (FASN), and stearoyl CoA desaturase 1 (SCD1)] to AML and eBL cell lines treated with BaP.

Surgical repair is usually curative; we present the case of a 47-year-old woman with a recurrent PVA presenting as a soft popliteal fossa mass with associated sensory deficit affecting the right foot, 4 years after initial operative repair. Venous duplex imaging demonstrated a saccular aneurysm originating from the posterior wall of the right popliteal vein.
