Two planthopper species of the family Nogodinidae are added to the fauna of Vietnam, both from two localities in Thua Thien-Hue Province: Bach Ma National Park and Phong Dien District. The first species belongs to Meng, Wang & Wang, 2014, Constant & Pham, , and the second belongs to Distant, 1906, Meng, Wang & Wang, 2014. was previously recorded from Hainan Island, China.

These new records greatly extend the distribution of the genus, which was known from southern China (Guangxi) and North Vietnam, to the south, reaching the mid area of Central Vietnam. New records are provided for Wang & Zhang, 2015, extending the distribution of the species from Cat Ba Island to a large zone in North Vietnam.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFourteen species of the lanternfly genus Pyrops Spinola were documented from Thailand during expeditions across the country and from citizen scientists records. The distribution maps of each species are provided, based on the examined material and records from iNaturalist citizen science platform. The species are illustrated and an identification key is also provided.

In its current design, it comprises an extensive series of tyramine escalation steps until a blood pressure threshold is met. Due to the high variation in tyramine bioavailability, and thereby in blood pressure effect, this classical design has various limitations, including safety concerns.

The new genus is placed in the subtribe Parahiraciina of the Parahiraciini. It is compared with the genera Constant, 2021, Che, Zhang et Wang, 2012, Che, Zhang et Wang, 2011, and Che, Zhang et Wang, 2020 with which it shares possessing an elongate head.

All species are from China and belong to five genera: Spinola, 1839 ( sp.); Wang and Huang, 1989 ( Wang and Huang, 1989); Stål, 1863 ( sp.

Here, the Phyllium (Phyllium) celebicum species group is reviewed and its distinctiveness from the remaining Phylliini genera and subgenera in a phylogenetic context based on morphological review and a phylogenetic analysis of three genes (nuclear gene 28S and mitochondrial genes COI and 16S) from most known and multiple undescribed species is shown. A new genus, , is erected to partially accommodate the former members of the species group.

This work presents and tests a pharmacology-guided rule-based adaptive dose escalation design that aims at making "best use" of participants in early clinical drug evaluation; it is paper based, not requiring real-time access to computational methods. The design minimizes the number of participants exposed to dose levels with low likelihood of being therapeutically relevant.

Objective: The objective of the present review was to assess recent regulatory precedence on drug use and race or ethnicity, with the goal of identifying opportunities for increasing the informative value of clinical ethnic or racial bridging in drug development.
Methods: Recently, (January 2014-July 2018) FDA approved drug product label texts and approval packages were reviewed for claims, comments and underlying data on use of the product in specific ethnic or racial groups.
Introduction: Despite the rising popularity of subcutaneous mastectomy (top surgery) in patients born female and identifying as male or nonbinary, there are limited studies on how prior breast surgeries affect subcutaneous mastectomy. This study evaluates if previous breast reduction affected subcutaneous mastectomy in this patient population.
Methods: The case series consists of 5 patients who, having had prior breast reductions, elected to have subcutaneous mastectomy.
Objective: This study evaluated subcutaneous injections of tetrodotoxin (TTX) for the treatment of moderate to severe, inadequately controlled cancer-related pain.
Methods: Eligible patients were randomized to receive TTX (30 g) or placebo subcutaneously twice daily for four consecutive days. Efficacy was assessed using pain and composite endpoints (including pain and quality of life measures), and safety was evaluated using standard measures.
Ionizing radiation, free radicals, and reactive oxygen species produce hundreds of different DNA lesions. Clustered lesions are typical for ionizing radiation. They compromise the efficiency of the base excision repair (BER) pathway, and as a consequence, they are much more toxic and mutagenic than isolated lesions.

In this study, we screened an academic chemical library (DCM, University of Grenoble-Alpes) and identified a leader molecule, COB223, that inhibits endothelial cell migration and proliferation. It inhibits also Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC/2) cell proliferation whereas it does not affect fibroblast proliferation.

Here we report a novel egg-deposition mode for Phasmatodea performed by an undescribed Vietnamese species of the enigmatic subfamily Korinninae that produces a complex egg case (ootheca), containing numerous eggs in a highly ordered arrangement. This novel egg-deposition mode is most reminiscent of egg cases produced by members of unrelated insect orders, e.

The major damage consists in a terminus containing a 5′-aldehyde as part of an otherwise undamaged nucleotide. Moreover it is considered as a polymorphic DNA strand break lesion since it can be borne by any of the four nucleosides encountered in DNA.
