Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how common habitual snoring is among children undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery and whether it links to complications during or after surgery.
  • Out of 1102 kids analyzed, 27.3% were habitual snorers, with snorers experiencing higher rates of respiratory complications (16.9%) and longer recovery times compared to non-snorers.
  • Findings suggest that habitual snoring in children is prevalent and may indicate a higher risk for surgical complications, warranting careful evaluation during pre-operative assessments.
