Unlabelled: The fracture liaison service in the study hospital developed and successfully implemented a digital platform to support the identification of patients while concurrently optimizing participation in the National Fracture Liaison Database. This initiative provides additional evidence of the capacity of digital health to support fracture liaison services.
Purpose: Resourced fracture liaison services (FLSs) are accepted internationally as the preeminent means of reducing the risk of future fragility fractures.
Objectives: Home-based hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) is a novel approach that has the potential to improve outcomes, however, the impact of transplant location on the gut microbiome remains uncharacterized. We hypothesized that patients randomized to undergo home HCT would have higher gut taxonomic diversity and lower antimicrobial resistance (AMR) gene abundance compared to those undergoing standard hospital HCT.

A new neuromodulation approach to treat tinnitus has emerged that combines sound with electrical stimulation of somatosensory pathways, supported by multiple animal studies demonstrating that bimodal stimulation can elicit extensive neural plasticity within the auditory brain. Initially pioneered at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, many centres have adopted similar templates, or variations of, and the overall aim of this study was to assess functional outcomes and injury recovery satisfaction rates of patients discharged directly following review in a specific virtual fracture clinic model known as the Trauma Assessment Clinic (TAC).
Methods: A prospective observational study was carried out of paediatric (aged <17 years) and adult (aged >17 years) patients, with the five most commonly observed fracture types, who were discharged directly following review at the TAC in a single hospital centre over a 12 month period from January to December 2018.
