Previous studies have suggested that this clinical pattern could be attributed to a somatosensory modulation of tinnitus.

A Unique Association of Right-Sided Aortic Arch With Kommerell's Diverticulum, Diffuse Idiopathic Pulmonary Neuroendocrine Cell Hyperplasia, and Typical Carcinoid: A Case Report.

Our case presents a unique occurrence marking the first documentation of a connection between a typical carcinoid in the context of diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia (DIPNECH) and vascular anomalies, including a right-sided aortic arch with Kommerell's diverticulum. Kommerell's diverticulum is a rare congenital anomaly. The lusoria subclavian artery, another developmental anomaly, arises from the right aortic arch instead of the typical left side.

The influence of naps on tinnitus was systematically assessed by exploring the frequency, clinical and demographic characteristics of this phenomenon. 9,724 data from two different tinnitus databases (Tinnitus Hub: n = 6115; Tinnitus Research Initiative (TRI): n = 3627) were included. After separate analysis of the databases, these results were then compared with each other.

Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Anatomic Lung Resection after Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Lung Cancer: A Case-Matched Analysis.

Background: The advantages of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) are well-recognized in several studies. However, in the cases of advanced lung cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (nCT), the role of VATS is still questionable, with concerns about safety, technical feasibility, and oncological completeness. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of nCT on patients who had undergone uniportal VATS (U-VATS) anatomic lung resections for lung cancer, by comparing the short-term outcomes of patients after nCT with case-matched counterparts (treated by surgery alone).

Safety and efficacy of surgically performed continuous superficial serratus anterior plane block in uniportal video-assisted thoracic surgery.

Introduction: The 'surgically performed' continuous superficial serratus anterior plane block (continuous s-SAPB) was never described before in uniportal video-assisted thoracic surgery (uniportal VATS) surgery. The aim of the study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the technique.

Patients And Methods: Between March 2022 and April 2023, 50 patients, undergone uniportal VATS surgery at our thoracic surgery department, were scheduled for a surgically performed continuous s-SAPB as post-operative analgesia protocol.

TNF-alpha Inhibitors Induced Eosinophilia: A Case Report of an Undervalued Side Effect of Such Biologicals.

Introduction: We present an unusual case of a 28-year-old rheumatologic male patient who developed eosinophilia while he was on etanercept therapy first and then on golimumab.

Case Representation: Although eosinophilia is rarely reported in the literature as a side-effect of various Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha [TNF-alpha] antagonists, it represents a riddle about the future treatments of these patients since the persistence of therapy might lead to the onset of dermatologic or visceral eosinophilic complications in such patients.

Conclusion: Furthermore, the pathogenesis of eosinophilia is still unknown, and all the proposed hypotheses do not explain the eosinophilic proliferation in certain subjects.

Robotic surgery for thymic cysts: clinical features, management, and results of a multicentric study.

The BAP1 tumor suppressor gene encodes a deubiquitinase enzyme involved in several cellular activities, including DNA repair and apoptosis. Germline pathogenic variants in BAP1 have been associated with heritable conditions including BAP1 tumor predisposition syndrome 1 (BAP1-TPDS1) and a neurodevelopmental disorder known as Kury-Isidor syndrome (KURIS). Both these conditions are caused by monoallelic, dominant alterations of BAP1 but have never been reported in the same subject or family, suggesting a mutually exclusive genotype-phenotype correlation.
