Introduction: Trichosanthin (TK) is a glycoprotein extracted from the Chinese medicinal herb Trichosanthes kirilowi, which has anti-virus and anti-tumor activity. However, the target and detailed mechanism of TK remains elusive.
Objectives: We aimed to identify novel antitumor targets of TK in lung adenocarcinoma and study its anti-tumor mechanism.
Acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) poses a significant impediment to achieving a more favourable therapeutic outcome in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Our prior investigations disclosed a correlation between p53 down-regulation in CD4+ T cells and the occurrence of aGVHD. Notably, the insufficiency of the CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) emerged as a pivotal factor in repressing p53 expression.

Emerging evidence supports that autophagy dysfunction in neuronal system contributes to pathophysiological changes in neurological disease. However, the role of autophagy in bipolar disorder has rarely been elucidated.

This study employs a sample of A-share listed firms in China from 2007 to 2020 to empirically examine the relationship between media coverage and ESG performance. It is demonstrated that media attention enhances corporate accountability, especially the print media and positive attention.

However, atypical forms of atrial flutter present distinct challenges in terms of diagnosis and treatment. In this study, we examine three noteworthy clinical cases of atypical atrial flutter, which offer compelling evidence indicating the implication of the lesser-known Septopulmonary Bundle (SPB).

The tumour suppressor p53 plays a pivotal role in preventing aGVHD development. However, whether P53 pathway which contains p53 family members and other related genes participates in aGVHD development remains an unsolved question.

Environmental DNA (eDNA) technology is increasingly applied for biodiversity monitoring, but relevant studies on marine mollusks are still limited. Although previous studies have developed several pairs of primers for mollusk eDNA analyses, most of them targeted only a small group of mollusks.

Nevertheless, the use of CAR-NK cells in combating viral infections has not yet been fully explored. Previous studies have shown that CAR-NK cells expressing S309 single-chain fragment variable (scFv), hereinafter S309-CAR-NK cells, can bind to SARS-CoV-2 wildtype pseudotyped virus (PV) and effectively kill cells expressing wild-type spike protein .

Recent studies have highlighted neuronal apoptosis and abnormal dendritic structures as crucial features of PND. Astrocytes-derived exosomes (ADEs) have been identified as carriers of microRNAs (miRNAs), playing a vital role in cell-to-cell communication through transmitting genetic material.

The study of the epigenetic modification of HBV has become a research hotspot, including the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification of HBV RNA, which plays complex roles in the HBV life cycle. In addition to m6A modification, 5-methylcytosine (m5C) is another major modification of eukaryotic mRNA.

A meta-analysis was conducted to explore the effects of warming on the physiological processes of coccolithophores and diatoms by synthesizing a large number of published literatures. A total of 154 studies consisting 301 experiments were synthesized in this study. Under a projected temperature increase of 3-5 °C by IPCC AR6 at the end of this century, our results suggest that the growth and photosynthetic rate of coccolithophores were significantly enhanced by the rising temperature, while the calcification of coccolithophores was only slightly promoted.

EVs are now recognized as important tools of cell-to-cell communication, allowing cells to exchange proteins, lipids, and genetic material to participate in physiological and pathological processes. It has been reported that EVs regulate host-pathogen interactions and participate in pathological processes of infectious disease, neurological diseases, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, etc.

Among SARS-CoV-2 essential proteases is papain-like protease (SARS-CoV-2 PLpro), which plays multiple roles in regulating SARS-CoV-2 viral spread and innate immunity such as deubiquitinating and deISG15ylating (interferon-induced gene 15) activities. Many studies are currently focused on targeting this protease to tackle SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Maintaining diversity and connectivity between communities is thought to be effective in mitigating these pressures. To assess the diversity and connectivity among the populations of in the East and South China Seas, 15 populations from or near 15 marine protected areas in the two seas were studied using and as genetic markers.

Although marine protected areas (MPAs) are considered an effective conservation tool, it remains unclear whether existing MPAs adequately protect marine biodiversity. To investigate this issue, we first constructed a maximum entropy model to predict the distributions of 359 threatened species and identified its species richness hotspots in the East China Sea.

Over one-third of vaccinated patients at the pre-booster time point were seronegative, and these patients were predominantly on active cancer therapies such as anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody. While booster immunization was able to induce detectable antibodies in a small fraction of seronegative patients, the overall booster benefit was disproportionately evident in patients already seropositive and not receiving active therapy.
