The co-pelletization of microalgae with filamentous fungi was a promising approach for microalgae harvest. However, the real conditions of microalgae growth limited the arbitrary optimization of co-pellets formation with filamentous fungi. Therefore, it is urgent to develop an approach to manipulate the co-pelletization through treatment of A.

Purpose: To explore the predictive value of nutritional risk for all-cause death and functional outcomes among elderly acute stroke patients.

Patients And Methods: A total of 479 elderly acute stroke patients were enrolled in this study. The nutritional risk of patients was screened by the GNRI and NRS-2002.

Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) stimulating Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6) on inhibition of osteoclastogenesis and the role of the adenosine A2A receptor (A2AR) and the p38α Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway in mediating this effect.

Methods: Mice with collagen induced arthritis (CIA) received different treatments. Immunohistochemistry and western blotting were used to determine the levels of multiple signaling molecules in these joints [receptor activator of nuclear transcription factor-κB (NF-κB) ligand (RANKL), receptor activator of NF-κB (RANK), tumor necrosis factor receptor associated factor 6 (TRAF6), p38α, NF-κB, and nuclear factor of activated T cells C1 (NFATc1)].

Objectives: The aim of the present work was to develop a methanol-independent Komagataella phaffii (K. phaffii) strain using a non-methanol promoter.

Results: In this study, the food grade enzyme xylanase from Aspergillus niger ATCC 1015 was used as the reporter protein, a recombinant K.

was used as biopesticide for crop protection in agriculture, however, the antimicrobial mechanism remains unclear and no systematic research on the secondary metabolites of has been reported. In this study, the extract of M01 culture was used to treat plant pathogen and morphological changes in the plasma membrane and cell wall of hyphae and conidia were observed. Fluorescence microscopy combined with different dyes showed that the accumulation of reactive oxygen species and cell death were also induced.

Fatty acid desaturases play an important role in maintaining the appropriate structure and function of biological membranes. The biochemical characterization of integral membrane desaturases, particularly ω3 and ω6 desaturases, has been limited by technical difficulties relating to the acquisition of large quantities of purified proteins, and by the fact that functional activities of these proteins were only tested in an NADH-initiated reaction system. The main aim of this study was to reconstitute an NADPH-dependent reaction system in vitro and investigate the kinetic properties of ω3 and ω6 desaturases in this system.

Acupuncture can effectively improve the sleep state, and most PD patients have sleep disorders. In this study, we used acupuncture to intervene in the sleep state of PDSD, so as to observe the changes and dose effect of Acutreatment on PDSD. 57 patients with PDSD, during medical treatment, aged 40-70 years were recruited to enroll in this trial.

Background: Recently, the role of electroacupuncture (EA) in chronic neuropathic pain has been widely reported. However, its specific mechanisms and ability to mitigate depression-like behaviors induced by chronic pain remains unclear. This study aims to determine the analgesic and antidepressant effect of EA.

Microbial lipids were produced by both rice straw hydrolysates and recycled pretreated glycerol. First, lipid fermentation of glucose via Cryptococcus curvatus was optimized by response surface methodology. Variables were selected by Plackett-Burman design, and optimized by central composite design, achieving 4.

Rice straw was pretreated with glycerol and AlCl for enzymatic hydrolysis at low cellulase loadings. Based on a central composite design, 83% delignification, 94% hemicellulose removal, and 92% cellulose recovery (or 76% cellulose in solid residue) were achieved under the optimized pretreatment conditions (0.08 mol/L AlCl as catalyst at 146.

Background: This study was to investigate the role of adenosine A2A receptors (A2AR) in inhibiting the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on osteoclastogenesis in collagen-induced arthritis (CIA).

Methods: Wistar rats were divided into four groups: sham-control group, CIA-control group, CIA-EA group, and CIA-EA-SCH58261 (A2AR antagonist) group. We detected tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-), nuclear transcription factor-B (NF-B), receptor activator of NF-B ligand (RANKL), protein kinase A (PKA), and extracellular regulatory protein kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) in peripheral blood by ELISA.

Introduction: Transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation (TEAS) is a standard therapy for painful conditions. This study evaluated pain-relieving effects of treatment with TEAS before and after surgical abortion.

Methods: In this cohort study 140 nulliparae requesting pregnancy termination with intravenous anesthesia from August to December 2013 at the outpatient clinic of Wenzhou Medical University First Affiliated Hospital were recruited and divided into three cohorts who received TEAS pre-, post-, and both pre- and post-operation, alongside a control group.

To study the role of adenosine A2A receptor (A2AR) in mediating the anti-inflammatory effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on synovitis in collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), C57BL/6 mice were divided into five treatment groups: Sham-control, CIA-control, CIA-EA, CIA-SCH58261 (A2AR antagonist), and CIA-EA-SCH58261. All mice except those in the Sham-control group were immunized with collagen II for arthritis induction. EA treatment was administered using the stomach 36 and spleen 6 points, and stimulated with a continuous rectangular wave for 30 min daily.
