Microsporidia are intracellular eukaryotic pathogens that pose a substantial threat to immunocompromised hosts. The way these pathogens manipulate host cells during infection remains poorly understood. Using a proximity biotinylation strategy we established that microsporidian EnP1 is a nucleus-targeted effector that modifies the host cell environment.

However, existing exploration methods face difficulties when directly applied to UGVs due to limited sensory coverage, conservative exploration strategies, inappropriate decision frequencies, and the non-holonomic constraints of wheeled vehicles. In this paper, we present IB-PRM, a hierarchical planning method that combines Incremental B-splines with a probabilistic roadmap, which can support rapid exploration by a UGV in complex unknown environments.

Early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is crucial for its prevention, and hippocampal atrophy is a significant lesion for early diagnosis. The current DL-based AD diagnosis methods only focus on either AD classification or hippocampus segmentation independently, neglecting the correlation between the two tasks and lacking pathological interpretability. To address this issue, we propose a Reliable Hippo-guided Learning model for Alzheimer's Disease diagnosis (RLAD), which employs multi-task learning for AD classification as a main task supplemented by hippocampus segmentation.

The results showed that during the succession of the three landfall typhoons, the O pollution sites in Beijing Tianjin Hebei and its surrounding areas (BTHS) and the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) exceeded 50%. During the HAISHEN period, O pollution days in the two regions reached 2.

Yeast, which is made up of chassis cells, is an important part of synthetic biology, and the use of the lipase-producing properties of 6A7 for the production of fatty acids provides a new pathway for targeted synthesis in yeast cell factories. In this study, we performed RNA-seq on lipase-producing 6A7 at different temperatures (15 °C, 20 °C, 20 °C without corn oil, and 25 °C).

Three-dimensional in-domain retrieval has recently achieved significant success, but 3-D cross-modal retrieval still faces problems and challenges. Existing methods only rely on a simple global feature (GF), which overlooks the local information of complex 3-D objects and the connections between similar local features across complex multimodal instances. To tackle this issue, we propose a hierarchical set-to-set representation (HSR) and a corresponding hierarchical similarity that incorporates global-to-global and local-to-local similarity metrics.

A comprehensive database could facilitate the sharing of spatial transcriptomic data and streamline the data acquisition process for researchers. Here, we present the Spatial TranscriptOmics DataBase (STOmicsDB), a database that serves as a one-stop hub for spatial transcriptomics.

To make a robot gaze at targets rapidly and stably (as a human does), it is necessary to design a body-head-eye coordinated motion control strategy. A robot system equipped with eyes and a head is designed in this paper.

Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the Cmr1 gene encodes a protein of 945 amino acids, containing two CysHis zinc finger domains and a Zn(II)Cys binuclear cluster domain located at the N-terminus of . To investigate the function of the gene, we performed gene knockout and overexpression experiments.

To better utilize potato waste for the production of pullulan by fermentation, in this study, the amino acid sequence and structural domain of pH transcription factor Appacc were analyzed using the bioinformatics methods. Appacc showed three typically conserved zinc finger domains, with the closest homology to Zymoseptoria brevis.

Ocular toxoplasmosis (OT) is retinochoroiditis caused by infection, which poses a huge threat to vision. However, most traditional oral drugs for this disease have multiple side effects and have difficulty crossing the blood-retinal barrier, so the new alternative strategy is required to be developed urgently. Histone deacetylases (HDAC) inhibitors, initially applied to cancer, have attracted considerable attention as potential anti- drugs.

BNIP3 is found to eliminate cancer cells via causing mitochondrial damage and endoplasmic reticulum stress, but it remains elusive of its role in regulating DNA double strand breaks (DSBs). In this study, we find that silibinin triggers DNA DSBs, ROS accumulation and expressional upregulation of BNIP3 in glioma cells. Mitigation of ROS with antioxidant GSH significantly inhibits silibinin-induced DNA DSBs and glioma cell death.
