Background: Arachnoid cysts are dural diverticula with liquid content similar to cerebrospinal fluid, with 1% occurring in the spinal cord. They locate mainly in the dorsal region of the thoracic spine, and are unusual causes of spinal cord compression.
Clinical Case: The case is presented of a previously healthy 15-year-old boy, with a 20-month history of spastic paraparesis that started apparently after epidural block for ankle osteosynthesis.
Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia initially shows osteoarticular manifestations. However, it is rare that it shows juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) symptoms.
Clinical Case: A child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia initially misdiagnosed with malignant neoplasia and septic arthritis, and later on with juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
We present the case of a teenage patient with progressive pseudorheumatoid dysplasia, an autosomal recessive disorder that may be initially misdiagnosed as juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCervical spine dysmorphisms (CSD) occurs in an heterogeneous group of patients unified by the presence of congenital defects result from malalignment, formation or segmentation of the cervical spine; generating disability. This problem requires comprehensive evaluation of patients with scoliosis diagnosis, correlating clinical and radiological findings and the presence of numerous abnormalities of other systems in order to give an opportunely syndrome diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of this patients with the aim to give them an integral rehabilitation treatment increasing their quality of life. In this study we described clinical and radiological findings in children with CSD diagnosis.
