Background: Imatinib is the treatment of elderly or frail patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Trough levels of around 1000 ng/ml are considered as the target exposure.
Objectives: We searched for baseline parameters associated with imatinib pharmacokinetics, and studied the clinical impact of subsequent adaptive dosing.
Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) remains a major unmet medical, despite recent progress in targeted molecular therapies. One aspect of leukaemic cell resistance to chemotherapy is the development of clones with increased capacity to respond to cellular stress and the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), thanks in particular to a high aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDH) 1A1/2 activity. At diagnosis, ROS level and ALDH1A1/2 activity in AML patients BM are correlated with the different ELN 2022 prognostic groups and overall survival (OS).

Thermophysical data are one of the key parameters for reactor design and understanding reactor operability. Hence, filling in the gap of the missing data is crucial to allow for the advancement of MSRs.

Rationale: Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry (KEMS) has been a powerful tool in physical chemistry since 1954. There are many excellent reviews of the basic principles of KEMS in the literature. In this review, we focus on the current status and potential growth areas for this instrumental technique.

We present here their crystal structure at room temperature solved by powder X-ray diffraction combined with Rietveld refinement. Their thermal and self-irradiation stabilities have been studied.

Based on a clinical situation of children born in a context of domestic violence, we will describe how the assessment device, through its therapeutic aim, allows to name the traumatic events suffered and to recognize their impact on the child's development.

Methods: We identified patients aged 55-80 years from a family medicine group. In the retrospective phase (March-August, 2019), patients were categorized as current/former/never smokers, and screening eligibility was determined.
-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) include three major subgroups-polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and primary myelofibrosis (PMF)-which are characterized by aberrant hematopoietic proliferation with an increased risk of leukemic transformation. Besides the driver mutations, which are , more than twenty additional mutations have been identified through the use of next-generation sequencing (NGS), which can be involved with pathways that regulate epigenetic modifications, RNA splicing, or DNA repair. The aim of this short review is to highlight the impact of molecular biology on the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic management of patients with PV, ET, and PMF.

These therapies, first based on monoclonal antibodies, also rely on specific inhibitors of various molecular abnormalities. A significant but modest prognosis improvement has been observed thanks to these new treatments that are limited by a high rate of relapse, due to the intrinsic chemo and immune-resistance of leukemia stem cell, together with the acquisition of these resistances by clonal evolution.

Cesium and iodine, which are formed during a fission process in a nuclear reactor, are considered as major fission products responsible for the environmental burden in case of a nuclear accident. From the safety point of view, it is thus important to understand their release mechanism when overheating of the reactor core occurs. This work presents an experimental investigation of the behaviour of caesium iodide and caesium fluoride in fluoride based molten salt reactor fuel during high temperature events.

The purity of the monazite-like phase was confirmed by spectroscopic (high-resolution solid-state P NMR and Raman) and microscopic (SEM-EDX and TEM) techniques. The thermal and self-irradiation stability have been studied.

Reconstructive surgeons are investigating tissue engineering (TE) strategies to overcome the current surgical drawbacks. 3D bioprinting is the rising technique for the fabrication of large tissue constructs which provides a potential solution for unmet clinical needs in breast reconstruction building on decades of experience in autologous fat grafting, adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (ASC) biology and TE.

Engaging in this process is prolonged and challenging with no research found exploring patients and loved ones' experiences through this demanding process.
Objective: The purpose was to examine the experience of LVRS for patients and loved ones as they encounter the complex preparation required prior to, during, and throughout the extended convalescence following surgery.
Background: Historically, pulmonary hypertension (PH) has been considered as one of the contraindications for lung volume reduction surgery (LVRS). Newer studies have shown that LVRS is successful in select emphysema patients with PH.
Methods: In-hospital and 1-year functional and quality of life (QOL) outcomes were studied in patients with PH post-LVRS.
Background: Chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are recognized as a cause of pulmonary hypertension (pH). We ought to describe the prevalence and characteristics of PH in a cohort of MPN who were screened using transthoracic echocardiography (TTE).
Methods: One hundred eighty-three newly diagnosed consecutive MPN patients were prospectively evaluated using TTE to detect PH.

Background: Adipose-derived Stem Cells (ASCs) present great potential for reconstructive procedures. Currently, isolation by enzyme digestion and culturing using xenogenic substances remain the gold standard, impairing clinical use.
Methods: Abdominal lipo-aspirate and blood samples were obtained from healthy patients.
The objective of this study was to test our Viral Quinta Columna Strategy (VQCS), a new biological hypothesis predicting that specific multifunctional virally encoded cationic domains may have the capacity to penetrate human cells and interact with PP2A proteins to deregulate important human intracellular pathways, and may display LL37 cathelicidin-like antagonistic effects against multiple pathogens such as bacteria or viruses. We comparatively analyzed the host defense properties of adenodiaphorins and of some specific cationic sequences encoded by different viruses using two distinct biological models: U87G, a well-characterized cell tumor model; and a group B NEM316 ΔdltA, highly sensitive to LL37 cathelicidin. We found that the adenovirus type 2 E4orf4 is a cell-permeable protein containing a new E4orf4 protein transduction domain, named large adenodiaphorin or LadD.

We present a retrospective study evaluating this approach with patients from the real life.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective single-arm study to assess efficacy and safety of RVD combination in induction therapy before high-dose chemotherapy with melphalan followed by autologous stem cell transplantation, and RVD consolidation followed by lenalidomide maintenance, from February 2011 to May 2016.
