Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) carries a 30-day mortality rate of 40% to 50% and a high burden of disability. Prior studies found that psychosocial stressors are associated with hypertension, ischemic stroke, and important racial/ethnic differences in baseline stress exist. We sought to determine whether stress, including distinct subtypes, predicts risk of ICH after controlling for important risk factors; whether its effect is mediated by hypertension; and whether important racial/ethnic differences in stress-associated ICH exist.

Compulsive Sexual Behavior Inventory Short Form (CSBI-SF): Development and Psychometric Evaluation.

The Compulsive Sexual Behavior Inventory (CSBI-13) assesses concerns related to compulsive sexual behavior (CSB) and has previously demonstrated strong psychometric properties. To enhance research and clinical screening utility, a short-form of the CSBI-13 was developed by modifying the CSBI-13 to items that screen for CSB and potential CSBD diagnosis. Using a confirmatory factor analytic approach, the resulting five-item CSBI-SF demonstrated strong model fit and internal consistency comparable to the original CSBI-13, as well as associations with other CSB measures and known correlates (religiosity, attachment style, and emotion dysregulation).

Sexual Boredom Inventory (SBI): Development and Initial Validation.

This study presents the development and validation of the Sexual Boredom Inventory (SBI), a 6-item measure assessing sexual boredom as a temporary, context-dependent state. Initial items were drafted from data obtained through qualitative analysis, and the SBI was tested using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with a sample of adults reporting on their sexual experiences in the past month. A single-factor model was found to be the best fit, with four items dropped during refinement.

Background: Pediatric workforce shortages became more apparent with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the rise in other viruses. Among factors affecting these shortages are undergraduate and graduate curricula that include pediatric content and clinical experiences.

Method: A narrative review was conducted to examine the state of the pediatric nursing workforce, describe curricular models in undergraduate and graduate programs, and determine the effects of these models on pediatric content and clinical experiences as well as subsequent employment in pediatric nursing.

Methods: We prospectively analyzed stroke alert activations at a comprehensive stroke center between August 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023.

Collaborative International Nursing Writing Group: A Nonpatriarchal Approach.

This paper offers a critical discussion of the evolution and impact of an international nursing writing group, developed to support nursing faculty and academics globally. Amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the writing group adapted and thrived online with a flattened power structure, and shared influence and acknowledgment of mutual capacity and contribution. The writing group attracted participants from various countries, with international members enriching collaboration, and fostering a global network of nursing scholars.

Purpose: To examine the concept of self-esteem among African American and Latinx adolescents with overweight and/or obesity and depressive symptoms in the United States.

Method: Using key terms in CINAHL, PubMed, and PsycINFO databases, an initial search yielded 371 articles; after examining title, abstract, and full text, 33 articles remained. The concept of adolescent self-esteem was analyzed using Rodger's evolutionary method.
