Hepcidin is a biomarker produced by hepatocytes in chronic disease anemia and is known to increase during chronic inflammation. This study compares the hepcidin levels in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients and controls, evaluating its relationship with anemia and systemic inflammation in IPF patients. This study included 82 IPF patients and 31 controls.

Methods: Cross-over, multicenter, randomized, single-blind clinical trial. Patients between the ages of 1 month and 18 years who were undergoing IMV therapy for acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF) were assigned at random to either begin with a 2-hour period of closed-loop oxygen control or manual oxygen titrations.
In this study, the aim was to evaluate the preferences and experiences interventions among women in Turkey. A total of 347 women who gave birth vaginally participated in this analytical cross-sectional study. Data were collected using the face-to-face interview technique in the clinic rooms within the first 24 hours after delivery, when the women's babies were asleep, allowing the mothers to comfortably answer the questions before discharge.

Emerging therapies, notably therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF), have demonstrated potential in mitigating these conditions through their roles in detoxification and hepatic support. The utility of these treatments, whether applied individually or in tandem, constitutes a significant area of research concerning the management of liver failure in pediatric patients.

Our study aims to determine the relationship between exacerbation periods and HALP (hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, platelet) scores in patients with bronchiectasis.
Materials And Methods: Adult patients diagnosed with bronchiectasis and followed up in our clinic between 02.
Purpose: To assess and compare the effects of sonic and ultrasonic instrumentation on shear bond strength (SBS) and investigate the influence of adhesive system application modes (etch&rinse/self-etch) on SBS.
Methods: In this experimental study, 45 extracted sound human molars were selected. Mesial and distal surfaces of the teeth were abraded until 90 smooth enamel surfaces were obtained.
Purpose: Optical properties of commonly used multifocal and extended-depth-of-focus (EDOF) intraocular lenses (IOLs) can induce artifacts or changes in optical coherence tomography (OCT) measurements. Our purpose was to investigate the possible effects of different IOLs on peripapillary and macular OCT parameters.
Methods: The preoperative and postoperative third-month peripapillary OCT and ganglion cell analysis (GCA) parameters of patients having monofocal (Alcon IQ), multifocal (PanOptix), or EDOF (Vivity) IOL implanted during cataract surgery were compared.
Background: In pediatric intensive care units, extubation failure following invasive mechanical ventilation poses significant health risks. Determining readiness for extubation in children can minimize associated morbidity and mortality. This study investigates the potential role of renal near-infrared spectroscopy (RrSO2) in predicting extubation failure in pediatric patients.

Methods: Glaucoma patients and healthy controls (=29 eyes) were investigated in this cross-sectional comparative study. Glaucoma patients were grouped as ocular hypertension (=44 eyes), preperimetric glaucoma (PPG; =32 eyes), early glaucoma (EG; =35 eyes), moderate stage glaucoma (MG; =36 eyes), and advanced glaucoma (AG; =35 eyes).
Pediatric trauma represents a significant source of morbidity and mortality in children, encompassing a broad spectrum of injuries. Despite advancements in the treatment and prevention of injuries, the risk of trauma in children remains a persistent concern. Severe trauma cases often necessitate admission to a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

While there are many studies on the relationship between anxiety disorders and childhood traumas in the literature, there are limited studies on the relationship between separation anxiety disorders and traumatic experiences in early life. It is widely known that trauma and negative cognitive processes are important factors in the etiology and prognosis of psychiatric disorders. In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between adult separation anxiety levels and childhood traumas and cognitive distortions, and to examine the mediating role of cognitive distortions in the relationship between childhood traumas and separation anxiety.

Before beginning lung cancer treatment, it is necessary to complete procedures such as suspecting lung cancer, obtaining a pathologic diagnosis, and staging. This study aimed to investigate the processes from suspicion of lung cancer to diagnosis, staging, and treatment initiation.

We also investigated risk factors associated with FS.
Material And Methods: A total of 44 patients with epilepsy, 14 patients with FS, and 25 healthy controls were included.
Background: Early treatment of severe acute hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection with nucleos(t)ide analogues may prevent progression to acute liver failure (ALF).
Patients And Methods: The charts of 24 patients who were treated for severe acute HBV infection (either INR ≥ 1.5 or INR≥ 1.
Pediatric septic shock is defined as progressive multi-organ dysfunction and cardiovascular dysfunction accompanying sepsis. Studies showing myocardial dysfunction associated with pediatric septic shock are very limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between myocardial functions calculated by echocardiography, disease severity, and clinical outcomes in children with septic shock.

The purpose of this article consisting of two interconnected parts is to report the experience of our orthopedics clinic, which is located just on the border of the disaster area. The subject of the first part of the study is the characteristics of ortho-pedic traumas in earthquake victims and the treatment methods applied.

Groundwater is contaminated by anthropogenic factors such as industry, domestic waste, and excessive fertilizers. Groundwater samples, which were obtained from 50 different wells in July 2020, were used in this study. Thirteen hydrochemical properties, including electrical conductivity (EC), pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), nitrate NO, anions, and cations were analyzed.
