Available data on radiologists' missed cervical spine fractures are based primarily on studies using human reviewers to identify errors on re-evaluation; such studies do not capture the full extent of missed fractures. To use machine-learning (ML) models to identify cervical spine fractures on CT missed by interpreting radiologists, characterize the nature of these fractures, and assess their clinical significance. This retrospective study included all cervical spine CT examinations performed in adult patients in the emergency department between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2022.

Short-term effects of retinoic acid on the proliferation of SH-SY5Y cells via mitophagy and apoptosis.

Neuroblastoma shows the highest lethality in childhood and has poor prognosis at high grade. Our objectives included determining how retinoic acid affected the growth of neuroblastoma cells and the relationship between chemicals unique to neurons and cell death processes like apoptosis and mitophagy. The 50% inhibitory concentration of retinoic acid on SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells was determined at the 24th, 48th and 72nd hours.

We investigate chronic pain in MS using MS-related trigeminal neuralgia (MS-TN) as a model condition focusing on gray matter structures as predictors of chronic pain.

Virtual reality training (VRT), a fun, inexpensive and accessible technology, has the potential to improve activities of daily living (ADL) and functional status in older adults. The potential impact of VRT can be increased through group-based training. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of group- based VRT on ADL and functional outcomes in older adults over 65 years of age.

RSNA 2023 Abdominal Trauma AI Challenge: Review and Outcomes.

Purpose To evaluate the performance of the winning machine learning models from the 2023 RSNA Abdominal Trauma Detection AI Challenge. Materials and Methods The competition was hosted on Kaggle and took place between July 26 and October 15, 2023. Relationship between hyperglycemia and intraocular pressure, corneal biomechanics, and corneal topography during the oral glucose tolerance test in nondiabetic patients.

Purpose: Altered corneal biomechanics in patients with diabetes may affect intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements. Although a relationship between IOP and glucose levels has been reported in diabetic and nondiabetic patients, the mechanism by which hyperglycemia influences IOP is unclear. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of hyperglycemia on IOP, corneal biomechanics, and anterior segment parameters during the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in nondiabetic patients.

Humor can contribute to nursing practices for relieving pain and anxiety in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) during intravenous (IV) biologic treatment. This study used a prospective, randomized controlled study design to investigate the effect of humor on pain and state anxiety in patients with RA receiving IV infusion therapy. Two sample groups were formed: the intervention group (watching a comedy movie) (n = 18) and the control group (usual care) (n = 18).

Aim: The objective of this study was to assess the short-term associations of the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease fibrosis score (NFS) with various outcomes, including mortality, severe coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, and the need for coronary angiography, among patients who underwent coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA).
