Objective: DYNC1H1 variants are involved on a disease spectrum from neuromuscular disorders to neurodevelopmental disorders. DYNC1H1-related epilepsy has been reported in small cohorts. We dissect the electroclinical features of 34 patients harboring de novo DYNC1H1 pathogenic variants, identify subphenotypes on the DYNC1H1-related epilepsy spectrum, and compare the genotype-phenotype correlations observed in our cohort with the literature.

This paper explores challenges in HWL rotation implementation across six diverse countries: Chile, Guyana, Indonesia, Jamaica, Mexico, and Vietnam. 19 in-depth interviews were conducted with government officials and representatives from civil society organisations and academia.

A network correspondence toolbox for quantitative evaluation of novel neuroimaging results.

Decades of neuroscience research has shown that macroscale brain dynamics can be reliably decomposed into a subset of large-scale functional networks, but the specific spatial topographies of these networks and the names used to describe them can vary across studies. Such discordance has hampered interpretation and convergence of research findings across the field. To address this problem, we have developed the Network Correspondence Toolbox (NCT) to permit researchers to examine and report spatial correspondence between their novel neuroimaging results and sixteen widely used functional brain atlases, consistent with recommended reporting standards developed by the Organization for Human Brain Mapping.

Background: Individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) can experience reduced motivation and cognitive function, leading to challenges with goal-directed behavior. When selecting goals, people maximize 'expected value' by selecting actions that maximize potential reward while minimizing associated costs, including effort 'costs' and the opportunity cost of time. In MDD, differential weighing of costs and benefits are theorized mechanisms underlying changes in goal-directed cognition and may contribute to symptom heterogeneity.

Background: Traditional electrocardiography (ECG)-derived heart rate variability (HRV) and photoplethysmography (PPG)-derived "HRV" (termed PRV) have been reported interchangeably. Any potential dissociation between HRV and PRV could be due to the variability in pulse arrival time (PAT; time between heartbeat and peripheral pulse).

The Feasibility and Acceptability of Sharing Video Recordings of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Clinical Encounters With Patients and Their Caregivers: Pilot Randomized Clinical Trial.

Background: Multidisciplinary clinics (MDCs) provide benefits to patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and their caregivers, but MDC visits are information-heavy and can last 4 hours, with patients and caregivers meeting with multiple specialists within each MDC visit. There are questions about the effectiveness of current methods of sharing information from MDCs with patients. Video recordings are a promising new method of sharing information that may allow patients and caregivers to revisit the MDC and remind them of clinical recommendations and conversations.

The purpose of this study was to describe common in-game mechanisms of injury, playing situations, and anatomic positioning of players who sustained an ACL injury in the NBA.

Introduction: Motivations for using electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) include quitting or reducing cigarette smoking, flavor, and addiction. This study examines whether the primary reason for continued ENDS usage changes over time, and its association with device and liquid characteristics.

Methods: Data are from a longitudinal cohort study and include 526 US adults (≥21 years) using ENDS frequently (≥5 days/week) as self-reported, and uploaded photos of their most used ENDS devices and liquids and self-reported primary reason for continued ENDS usage in wave 2 (December 2020-April 2021) and wave 5 (February-April 2023).

Objectives: Catheter removal is recommended in adults with Staphylococcus aureus central-line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) but is controversial in children with long-term central venous catheters (LTCVC). We evaluated the occurrence of catheter salvage strategy (CSS) in children with S. aureus LTCVC-associated CLABSI and assessed determinants of CSS failure.

Healthcare professionals working in any specialty may need to manage patients with sepsis. Age-related differences in resting-state, task-related, and structural brain connectivity: graph theoretical analyses and visual search performance.

Previous magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research suggests that aging is associated with a decrease in the functional interconnections within and between groups of locally organized brain regions (modules). Further, this age-related decrease in the segregation of modules appears to be more pronounced for a task, relative to a resting state, reflecting the integration of functional modules and attentional allocation necessary to support task performance. Here, using graph-theoretical analyses, we investigated age-related differences in a whole-brain measure of module connectivity, system segregation, for 68 healthy, community-dwelling individuals 18-78 years of age.
