[Subcutaneous emphysema. A rare complication of colorectal colonoscopy].

The Authors describe a case of subcutaneous emphysema following rectosigmoidoscopy in a 72 year old woman. Guidelines of preliminary conservative treatment and eventually careful surgical approach are suggested.

[Leiomyoblastoma of the stomach. Another case report].

A further case of gastric leiomyoblastoma in a 53 year old woman is presented. Pathology, diagnosis, and therapy of this rare neoplasm are discussed.

Therapeutic and prophylactic effects of cephalexin and bromhexine in respiratory tract complications of abdominal surgery.

We report the results of a study carried out with cephalexin and bromhexine in a group of 100 patients at risk for bronchopulmonary complications following abdominal surgery. The treatment achieved very good activity and excellent tolerance. We consider this therapy very useful for prophylaxis and treatment of bronchopulmonary complications in patients who have undergone surgery.

[Thyroiditic reactions during a course of thyroid cancer].

The clinical, immunological, and immunoistochemical features of 10 thyroid cancers associated with intra and extra tumoral thyroiditis are described. These cases have been obtained from a review of 806 thyroidectomies. A proper distinction of the described pathology from the immunological and histological point of view, is emphasized, especially if compared with the prognosis of other thyroid cancers.
