Multiple myeloma is a hematologic neoplasm caused by abnormal proliferation of plasma cells. Sequencing studies suggest that plasma cell disorders are caused by both cytogenetic abnormalities and oncogene mutations. Therefore, it is necessary to detect molecular abnormalities to improve the diagnosis and management of MM.

Recently, Brentuximab Vedotin (BV) has emerged as an important therapy not only for Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but also for CD30-positive T cell lymphomas. Although anemia and thrombocytopenia are common myelosuppressive side effects, to our knowledge, this is the first described case of Evans Syndrome associated with BV therapy. We present the case of a 64-year-old female, diagnosed with relapsed Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma Not Otherwise Specified (PTCL-NOS), who, after receiving six cycles of BV, developed authentic severe autoimmune hemolytic anemia with strong positive direct anti-globulin (Coombs) test, simultaneously associated with severe immune thrombocytopenia.

Post liver transplantation (LT) fibrosis has a negative impact on graft function. Cytokine production in the host immune response after LT may contribute to the variable CYP3A-dependent immunosuppressive drug disposition, with subsequent impact on liver fibrogenesis, together with host-related factors. We aimed to investigate whether the cytochrome P4503A5*3 (CYP3A5*3) or TBX21 genotypes impact post-LT liver fibrogenesis.

Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a hematologic malignancy characterized by the acquisition of several genetic lesions in the lymphoid progenitors with subsequent proliferation advantage and lack of maturation. Along the years, it has been repeatedly shown that minimal residual disease (MRD) plays an important role in prognosis and therapy choice. The aim of the current study was to determine the prognostic role of MRD in childhood ALL patients in conjunction with other relevant patient and disease characteristics, thus showing the real-life scenario of childhood ALL.

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL) is a rare manifestation of multiple sclerosis, typically appearing in the early stages of the disease, especially in female subjects. SSHL is produced by the involvement of auditory tract, vestibulocochlear nerve and possibly cochlear structures and rarely due to a single lesion. The authors report the case of a young woman in which the onset of multiple sclerosis presented with SSHL caused by a pontine lesion.
