[Family guidance for the elderly: a family group care at home].

The Elderly Psychiatry Family Guidance Centre, set up in 2009 in the French Rhône department, is a hospital-based team working at the request of professionals in the network. It is aimed at families in which a member over the age of 65 is experiencing a loss of autonomy that is beyond the family's resources. Combining psychodynamic and systemic tools, this group treatment focuses on psychological aspects and elements of everyday reality.

Auto-adjusted versus fixed positive airway pressure in patients with severe OSA: A large randomized controlled trial.

Background And Objective: Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) in the treatment of severe obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) can be used in fixed CPAP or auto-adjusted (APAP) mode. The aim of this prospective randomized controlled clinical study was to evaluate the 3 month-efficacy of CPAP used either in fixed CPAP or APAP mode.

Methods: Eight hundred one patients with severe OSA were included in twenty-two French centres.

[Sleep characteristics of a population of patients seeking bariatric surgery].

Introduction: Investigation for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is mandatory before bariatric surgery. Data regarding chronic insomnia and chronic sleep deprivation are scarce in this population.

Methods: A cross-sectional study assessing the prevalence of chronic insomnia, OSAS and chronic sleep privation in an obese population referred for bariatric surgery.

Acceleration of western Arctic sea ice loss linked to the Pacific North American pattern.

Recent rapid Arctic sea-ice reduction has been well documented in observations, reconstructions and model simulations. However, the rate of sea ice loss is highly variable in both time and space. The western Arctic has seen the fastest sea-ice decline, with substantial interannual and decadal variability, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear.

The tropical rain belts with an annual cycle and a continent model intercomparison project: TRACMIP.

This paper introduces the Tropical Rain belts with an Annual cycle and a Continent Model Inter-comparison Project (TRACMIP). TRACMIP studies the dynamics of tropical rain belts and their response to past and future radiative forcings through simulations with 13 comprehensive and one simplified atmosphere models coupled to a slab ocean and driven by seasonally varying insolation. Five idealized experiments, two with an aquaplanet setup and three with a setup with an idealized tropical continent, fill the space between prescribed-SST aquaplanet simulations and realistic simulations provided by CMIP5/6.

[Hereditary multiple exostosis complicated by spontaneous haemothorax].

Spontaneous haemothorax is a rare event in the general population. However some diseases, including hereditary multiple exostosis, have an increased incidence of this complication. We report the case of a 22 year old patient with hereditary multiple exostosis who presented with a right sided haemothorax due to an exostosis of the seventh rib.
