Background: Anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty are highly successful procedures for treatment of glenohumeral arthritis to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and overall quality of life. However, the long-term survivorship of the implant systems is less widely documented in the existing literature. The purpose of this study was to establish the long-term patient outcomes and identify factors influencing the postoperative implant survivorship of total anatomic shoulder arthroplasty devices/procedures utilizing the short-stemmed prosthesis and hybrid glenoid components of the Comprehensive Shoulder System (Zimmer Biomet, Warsaw, IN, USA) at an average of ten years.

Objective: To assess the potential contribution of large-scale food fortification (LSFF) towards meeting dietary micronutrient requirements in Tanzania.

Design: We used household food consumption data from the National Panel Survey 2014-15 to estimate fortifiable food vehicle coverage and consumption (standardised using the adult female equivalent approach) and the prevalence at risk of inadequate apparent intake of five micronutrients included in Tanzania's fortification legislation. We modelled four LSFF scenarios: no fortification, status quo (i.

Background: Stemless humeral components for anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA) have several reported potential benefits compared with stemmed implants. However, we are aware of no Level-I, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that have compared stemless implants with stemmed implants in patients managed with aTSA. We sought to directly compare the short-term clinical and radiographic outcomes of stemless and stemmed implants to determine if the stemless implant is noninferior to the stemmed implant.

The A˜(2)E(″)←X˜(2)A2 (') spectrum of NO3 radical from 7550 cm(-1) to 9750 cm(-1) has been recorded and analyzed. Our spectrum differs from previously recorded spectra of this transition due to jet-cooling, which narrows the rotational contours and eliminates spectral interference from hot bands. Assignments of numerous vibronic features can be made based on both band contour and position including the previously unassigned 30 (1) band and several associated combination bands.

The jet-cooled Ã-X̃ near IR origin band spectra of the G(1)G(2)G(3) conformer of four β-hydroxyethylperoxy isotopologues, β-HEP (HOCH(2)CH(2)OO), β-DHEP (DOCH(2)CH(2)OO), β-HEP-d(4) (HOCD(2)CD(2)OO), and β-DHEP-d(4) (DOCD(2)CD(2)OO), have been recorded by a cavity ringdown spectrometer with a laser source linewidth of ~70 MHz. The spectra of all four isotopologues have been analyzed and successfully simulated with an evolutionary algorithm, confirming the cyclic structure of the molecule responsible for the observed origin band. The analysis also provides experimental à and X̃ state rotational constants and the orientation of the transition dipole moment in the inertial axis system; these quantities are compared to results from electronic structure calculations.

Objective: Bigliani's classification system of acromial morphology utilizing the standard outlet radiograph has become in accepted method for evaluating patients with rotator cuff disease. This study evaluates the interobserver and intraobserver reliability of Bigliani's classification system using observers at various levels of training.

Patients And Design: Supraspinatus outlet view radiographs of 40 patients (aged 18-78 years) with shoulder pain were reviewed twice, 4 months apart, in a masked protocol by six reviewers, including two attending (fellowship-trained) shoulder surgeons, an attending musculoskeletal radiologist, an orthopedic surgery sports fellow, and two orthopedic residents (PGY-2 and PGY-5).

We studied 148 professional baseball players with no history of shoulder problems to assess range of motion and laxity of their dominant and nondominant shoulders. There were 72 pitchers and 76 position players. Average external rotation with the arm in 90 degrees of abduction was statistically greater and average internal rotation was statistically less in the dominant shoulders than in the nondominant shoulders, both in pitchers and position players.

The osteogenic consequences of bone marrow ablation followed by bone marrow transplantation for Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma were examined. Pre- and post-transplantation iliac crest bone biopsies were reviewed for all patients undergoing transplantation at the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center between January 1981 and December 1989. Histomorphometric measurements included percentage of filled trabecular lacunae to estimate osteocyte viability, marrow cellularity and marrow fibrosis.

Full PLM curves have been obtained for four sites in the mouse. The first peaks have been analysed by computer and the duration of the G2 + M and S phases determined together with their standard deviations. The full curves showed a general similarity for all four sites with no clear second peak.
