Decision making and patient selection for isolated occlusion of the M2 segment of the middle cerebral artery is challenging, with the efficacy of treatment for such distal occlusions still controversial in recent studies, as occlusion in such small and thin vessels tends to manifest with less severe symptoms initially and hold higher surgical risks. It is even less clear which endovascular technique is more effective for this type of occlusion, with the choice usually left to the radiologist's preference. We conducted a controlled prospective study of consecutive patients presenting to Novara Hospital with an acute M2 occlusion diagnosed at the AngioCt and, following a predetermined randomization, we divided them into two treatment arms with either stent retriever aspiration (SRa) or direct aspiration (DA).

The evolution of TARE technology allows a more flexible and personalized target treatment, based on the anatomy and vascular characteristics of each HCC. The flex-dose delivery program is part of this perspective, which allows us to adjust the dose and its radio-embolizing power in relation to the size and type of cancer and to split the therapeutic dose of Y90 in different injections (split-bolus).

The aim of this study is to highlight patient characteristics, the timing of medical attention and therapy, successful recanalization, and functional outcomes in patients over 80 y/o who underwent mechanical thrombectomy at the Ospedale Maggiore della Carità di Novara (Hub) since endovascular stroke treatment was first started here.
Methods: all 122 consecutive patients over 80 y/o at admission who underwent mechanical thrombectomy between 2017 and 2022 at our Hub center were retrospectively included in our database.
Background: Due to the high prevalence of hepatic steatosis (HS), the aim of the study is to verify the frequency of HS incidentally detected in chest computed tomography (CT) imaging in our population affected by SARS-CoV-2 and to investigate its association with the severity of the infection and outcome in terms of hospitalization.
Design And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 500 patients with flu syndrome and clinically suspected of having Sars-CoV-2 infection who underwent unenhanced chest CT and have positive RT-PCR tests for Sars-CoV-2 RNA. Two radiologists both with >5 years of thoracic imaging experience, evaluated the images in consensus, without knowing the RT-PCR results.
Introduction: The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device is a self-expanding intrasaccular braided-wire device for the treatment of wide-neck bifurcation aneurysms (WNBAs). Even though this device has an excellent safety profile and a low risk of rebleeding, little is known about its long-term effects.
Material And Methods: All patients treated with WEB due to ruptured WNBAs were subjected to follow-up digital subtraction angiography (DSA) at 2 and 3 years after device deployment.
From April 1987 to December 1990 490 women and 5 men suffering from primary or metastatic breast cancer underwent 1485 assays of the CA 15-3 marker using a radioimmunometric method supplied by Centocor based on two monoclonal antibodies: 115D8 and DF3. The dose-response curve constructed using 5 standards. Clinical and instrumental monitoring of patients continued for at least one year after the last assay.

SMO was carried out using nanometer-sized particles (nanocolloid) labelled with 99mTc, known to target the phagocitic properties of the medullar reticulo-endothelial cells. The results of the two investigations carried out in 148 patients agreed with each other.

The bone marrow scan with a Tc 99m-nanocolloid rapidly cleared by the phagocytic action of the RES, which has a topographic extension similar to red marrow, has been used for many years to evaluate the inflammatory and neoplastic diseases, both localized and diffuse. Such examination was thus performed in patients undergoing cytostatic therapy, either to follow-up metastatic lesions or to evaluate a tissue damage due to different drugs.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA nanocolloid marked with 99mTc was used to perform 100 bone marrow scintiscans in 72 patients given radiotherapy for tumours. The compound is taken up by the cells of the phagomonocytic system whose distribution in the bones is similar to that of the erythropoietic marrow. With doses over 30 Gy a more or less marked reduction in captation by the marrow involved in radiation was always noted.

The radioimmunological method was used to measure the serum levels of 4 tumour markers--CEA, TPA, Ca 19-9 and Ferritin--in 20 hepatitis patients. Blood levels of bilirubin and transaminase were assayed at the same time. Patients with high levels of bilirubin and transaminase also revealed pathological levels of all 4 markers, especially TPA and ferritin which fell towards normal levels once the acute attack was over.

Each image was subjected to several types of electronic processing. The contrast was assessed in certain pre-established areas in order to obtain an indication of the efficacity of the various techniques.

Sequential Isotopic Scrotal Angiography (SISA) was used for the diagnosis of this condition in both the recognition and confirmation phase. This dynamic and static survey based on the use of 99mTc-pyrophosphate proved able to discriminate between the various degrees of varicocele.

Groups were divided into stages and the results of all possible associations were assessed. Only the most significant are reported.

The advantages of human albumin nanocolloids over sulphated microcolloids are described and discussed. These mainly consist of more rapid, larger-sale endolymphatic transport.

Some details of this occurrence are discussed in relation to similar findings in the international literature. The average interval between the two tumours was found to be 7.

Method and results are presented for the cystoscintigraphic detection with 99mTc-DTPA, associated with urodynamic examination for the evaluation of the vesicoureteral reflux, involving a relatively simple execution. The use of this method is advised in Pediatrics because of its low gonadal dose, thorough examination and least aggressiveness.

Graphs and tables illustrate; the frequency, location, histological type, staging, the age of the patient and the date of the onset of the first neoplasia, any previous family history of cancer, the interval between the two neoplasias and the type of treatment given during this interval. Particular attention is paid to cases in which both neoplasias were breast tumours, and brief remarks on certain aspects of such cases are presented.

The spleno-hepatic uptake index revealed by computerised scintiscanning proved a reliable indicator of moderate and especially severe diffuse hepatopathy. The test is quickly and easily performed and is also practical since it uses the same radioactive bolus injected for static scintigraphy.
