In this work, we present a dataset that combines functional magnetic imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG) to use as a resource for understanding human brain function in these two imaging modalities. The dataset can also be used for optimizing preprocessing methods for simultaneously collected imaging data. The dataset includes simultaneously collected recordings from 22 individuals (ages: 23-51) across various visual and naturalistic stimuli.

Vaccinating homebound individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic presented several challenges, including time and cost of engaging this group. In Los Angeles County, the departments of Public Health and Aging and Disabilities turned to home delivered meals programs (HDMs) for help with this public health priority. A mixed-method organizational assessment of 34 HDMs was conducted during March-April 2022 to describe these efforts.

In this paper, we present a novel means of control design for probabilistic movement primitives (ProMPs). Our proposed approach makes use of control barrier functions and control Lyapunov functions defined by a ProMP distribution. Thus, a robot may move along a trajectory within the distribution while guaranteeing that the system state never leaves more than a desired distance from the distribution mean.

To provide a baseline of various driving behaviors and to identify opportunities for prevention of distracted driving during the infancy of state laws that prohibited cellphone use while operating a motor vehicle, the 2010-2011 Distracted Driving Survey collected information on multiple distracted driving behaviors from lower-income clients of three designated, multi-purpose public health centers in Los Angeles County. To assess the prevalence of four common health conditions related to cardiovascular disease risk among Asians in Los Angeles County. A survey of Asians in Los Angeles County was conducted utilizing purposive sampling to recruit from the region's Service Planning Areas 3 and 4; these underserved areas contain high density of Asian populations. Cancer of the eye in cattle with white faces occurs less frequently in cattle with pigmented eyelids. Corneoscleral pigmentation is related to eyelid pigmentation and occurrence of lesions that may precede cancer. Objectives of this study were to assess 1) variation in the proportion of eyelid and corneoscleral pigmentation in Hereford, Bos taurus, and Bos indicus crossbreds and 2) the occurrence of lesions with the presence of pigmentation in those areas.

A one-step hydrothermal method, followed by calcination at 300 °C in an argon atmosphere, has been developed to synthesize TiO2-B nanoparticles/double-walled nanotubes (NP/DWNT) and TiO2-B nanoparticles/multiple-walled nanotubes (NP/MWNT). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first synthesis of TiO2-B NP/NT hierarchical structures. Both NP/DWNT and NP/MWNT show high performance as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, superior to their counterparts of DWNT and MWNT, respectively.

A simple and generic approach--alternating voltage induced electrochemical synthesis (AVIES)--has been reported for synthesizing highly dispersed colloidal metal (Au, Pt, Sn, and Pt-Pd) and metal oxide (ZnO and TiO2) nanocrystals. The respective nanocrystals are produced when a zero-offset alternating voltage at 60 Hz is applied to a pair of identical metal wires, which are inserted in an electrolyte solution containing capping ligands. In the case of Au, the obtained nanocrystals are highly crystalline nano-icosahedra of 14 ± 2 nm in diameter, the smallest Au icosahedra synthesized in aqueous solutions via green chemistry.
