Background: In response to the adverse impacts of the COVID-19 lockdown measures Move Well, Feel Good (MWFG) was developed as a school intervention using improvement of motor competence as a mechanism for promoting positive mental health. Study objectives were to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of MWFG and to describe changes in child-level outcomes.

Insulin autoimmune syndrome (IAS) is a rare cause of spontaneous hypoglycaemia. We discuss a 91-year-old Caucasian lady who presented with syncope and episodic adrenergic and neuroglycopenic symptoms. Despite significantly elevated insulin, C-peptide, and proinsulin levels with the presence of anti-insulin antibodies, a pancreatic mass was not identified.

Cardiogenic shock without hypotension in acute severe primary mitral regurgitation: a case report.

A 60-year-old gentleman who presented with features of end-organ hypoperfusion despite initial hypertension was promptly diagnosed with cardiogenic shock following evidence of hyperlactatemia on biochemistry and left ventricular global hypokinesis with severe mitral regurgitation on transthoracic echocardiogram. He responded well to dobutamine and later underwent definitive surgical mitral valve replacement.

Screening and treatment of anxiety symptoms within an interdisciplinary comprehensive epilepsy center.

Youth with epilepsy (YWE) are at elevated risk for anxiety, yet anxiety is often undetected and understudied in this population. Most research on anxiety in YWE is based on parent proxy-report and broad-band measures with limited sensitivity. The aim of the current study was to: 1) examine rates of anxiety symptoms in YWE using a diagnosis-specific, self-report measure of anxiety symptoms, 2) assess differences in anxiety symptoms by sociodemographic and medical variables, and 3) evaluate changes in anxiety symptoms following a brief behavioral health intervention delivered within an interdisciplinary epilepsy clinic visit.

Purpose: Epilepsy-specific health-related quality of life (HRQOL) is an important outcome in youth with epilepsy (YWE). The PedsQL™ Epilepsy Module is the only caregiver-proxy and youth self-report epilepsy-specific HRQOL measure that can be used with youth 2-25 years. Multiple factors affect HRQOL, including epilepsy-specific characteristics, comorbid mental and behavioral health concerns, as well as sociodemographic factors.

A rare case of hemichorea in the setting of non-ketotic hyperglycaemia with subtle radiological changes: a case report.

Movement disorders have been associated with hyperglycaemia including chorea, hemiballismus and choreoathetosis. In almost all documented cases, there is an association between clinical and radiological findings. We report a case of an 82-year-old man with hemichorea in the setting of hyperglycaemia and poorly controlled type 2 diabetes.

Chronic Digoxin Toxicity: An Evaluation of Digoxin-Specific Antibodies and Other Management Options.

Chronic digoxin toxicity comprises the bulk of digoxin poisonings and can be more difficult to manage than acute intoxications. A 60-year-old lady presented with severe chronic digoxin toxicity after ingesting digoxin 250mcg twice a day (BD) for two weeks. Due to hemodynamic instability on presentation, she was treated with digoxin-specific antibodies and admitted to the coronary care unit.

Self-Disclosure Patterns Among Children and Youth with Epilepsy: Impact of Perceived-Stigma.

This review aimed to synthesize the minimal existing literature on the impact of perceived stigma on self-disclosure patterns among children and youth with epilepsy (YWE). Initial literature searches were conducted in PsycInfo, Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed using search terms focused on epilepsy, pediatrics, disclosure, and/or stigma. Articles were included if they were original human research articles published in peer-reviewed journals that were accessible in English through Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Pratt Library and fit study aims.

Uncovering Key Elements of an Executive Functioning Intervention in Adolescents: Epilepsy Journey.

Objective: The extent to which tailored executive functioning (EF) interventions lead to improvements in other areas of functioning in adolescents with epilepsy is unknown. The types of problems that youth select to practice EF skills during tailored interventions has not been documented. This study aimed to systematically evaluate: 1) the EF problems and strategies selected during a tailored EF intervention for youth with epilepsy, and 2) impact of a tailored intervention on specific problems for subgroups who choose to practice EF skills in those areas.

Behavioral health screening in pediatric epilepsy: Which measures commonly used in the United States are 'good enough'?

Purpose: To improve evidence-based implementation of behavioral health screening measures in pediatric epilepsy care, guidance is needed in the selection and interpretation of evidence-based screening measures. Therefore, the goals of this project were to (1) evaluate the clinical utility and psychometric properties of screening instruments frequently used in the United States (US) for anxiety, depression, and behavior problems in youth with epilepsy (YWE), and (2) provide guidance around selection and interpretation of these behavioral health screening measures.

Method: The critique was conducted in three phases: (1) identification of articles based on search criteria; (2) full review of articles for eligibility assessment; (3) evaluation of screening measures and organization into Tiers.

A qualitative study of medication adherence amongst people with schizophrenia.

Non-adherence to antipsychotic medication is common among people with schizophrenia, and is associated with an increased risk of relapse. It is important to develop strategies to enhance medication adherence. Few qualitative studies have been undertaken to understand the consumer's perspective.

Microscopic Polyangiitis with Pulmonary Fibrosis: An Often-Recognized Manifestation of the Disease.

Background: Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) can manifest with atypical features such as pulmonary fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which are atypical and unusual features of small vessel vasculitis.

Case Presentation: This paper presents two patients with microscopic polyangiitis and respiratory symptoms attributable to atypical pulmonary manifestations. Pulmonary fibrosis was present in both cases, with COPD also present in one patient.

Clinical impact of rapid diagnostics using Xpert Flu/RSV™ PCR on antimicrobial stewardship initiatives during influenza season.

Background: Despite the availability of several rapid Influenza tests (RIT), the literature on its impact on antimicrobial stewardship programs (AMS) is minimal. Studies utilising rapid point of care tests (POCT) have shown benefit in terms of shortening antimicrobial therapy and prescriptions of antivirals. We designed this study to assess whether RIT had an impact on antibiotic cessation.

Factors affecting the discharge of patients from hospital with seasonal influenza-the role of the Rapid Influenza testing in hospital discharges.

Influenza is a major cause of presentations to the emergency departments. Introduction of the Rapid Influenza tests has assisted with diagnosis and facilitated patient discharges. We designed this study to identify factors affecting hospital discharge and to understand the role of Rapid Influenza testing.

Maintenance Following a Randomized Trial of a Clinic and Home-based Behavioral Intervention of Obesity in Preschoolers.

Objective: To assess maintenance of improved weight outcomes in preschoolers with obesity 6 and 12 months following a randomized clinical trial comparing a home- and clinic-based behavioral intervention (Learning about Activity and Understanding Nutrition for Child Health [LAUNCH]) to motivational interviewing and standard care.

Study Design: Randomized controlled trial with children between the ages of 2 and 5 years above the 95th percentile for body mass index for age and sex recruited from 27 pediatrician offices across 10 recruitment cycles between March 12, 2012, and June 8, 2015, were followed 6 and 12 months post-treatment. Child and caregiver weight, height, and caloric intake, child physical activity, and home environment were assessed.
