Background: The real incidence of atrial arrhythmia (AA) after patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure and whether this complication can be prevented remain unknown. We assessed whether flecainide is effective to prevent AA during the first 3 months after PFO closure, and whether 6 months of treatment with flecainide is more effective than 3 months to prevent AA after PFO closure.
Methods: AFLOAT (Assessment of Flecainide to Lower the Patent Foramen Ovale Closure Risk of Atrial Fibrillation or Tachycardia Trial) is a prospective, multicentre, randomized, open-label, superiority trial with a blind evaluation of all the end points (PROBE [Prospective Randomized Open, Blinded End Point] design).
Background/aim: Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction related to systolic anterior motion (SAM) of the mitral valve is a common complication of dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE). However, the mechanisms underlying SAM have not been fully characterized. The objective of the present study was to use three-dimensional echocardiography to identify anatomic features of the mitral valve that predispose to SAM during DSE.

This is particularly difficult for young children, who mainly rely on environmental cues to get there. Research suggests that training children to look for the most relevant perceptual cues is promising.

Baseline [F]FDG PET/CT radiomic features can improve the survival prediction in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The purpose of this study was to investigate whether characterizing tumor locations relative to the spleen location in baseline [F]FDG PET/CT images predicts survival in patients with DLBCL and improves the predictive value of total metabolic tumor volume (TMTV) and age-adjusted international prognostic index (IPI). This retrospective study included 301 DLBCL patients from the REMARC (NCT01122472) cohort.

Aims: To assess the safety and efficacy of the Trevisio DS for transcatheter closure of patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect.
Methods: The Amplatzer™ Trevisio™ Intravascular Delivery System Post-Approval Study was a prospective, postmarket, single-arm, multicentre, observational study of the Trevisio DS.
BRAF and MEK inhibitors are cornerstones of the redifferentiation strategy in metastatic radioactive iodine (RAI)-resistant mutant thyroid cancers. We explored the exposure-toxicity relationship for dose-limiting toxicity (DLT) onset in patients treated with dabrafenib and/or trametinib and investigated whether plasma exposure was associated with RAI reuptake. We conducted a retrospective monocentric study in which we reviewed the electronic medical records of patients treated in our institution with a tumor redifferentiation strategy, for whom plasma concentration of dabrafenib, its active metabolite hydroxy-dabrafenib, and trametinib was measured.

Surface-level forage fish aggregations (FFAs) represent a concentrated source of prey available to surface- and shallow-foraging marine predators. Existing survey and analysis methods are often imperfect for studying forage fishes at scales appropriate to foraging predators, making it difficult to quantify predator-prey interactions.

Population-level patterns arise from individual-level decisions, including physiological and energetic constraints. Many aspects of migration are influenced by behaviors and strategies employed during periods of stopover, where migrants may encounter variable or unpredictable conditions.

Aim: To analyze the real duration of DAPT post coronary angioplasty in CCS, as well as the factors affecting this duration.
Methods: Between 2014 and 2019, 8.
Introduction: Goal choice is one of the first, and most important, steps in self-regulated learning (SRL). It is particularly challenging for young children (before 5-6 years), who tend to rely on available environmental cues, which makes their goals fragile because of the instability and variability of the environment. Therefore, it can be assumed that the conditions under which a task is performed may influence a child's learning goal choice.

Objective: To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of FCH-PET/CT in a cohort of osteoporotic patients with nPHPT and discordant or negative [99mTc]Tc-sestamibi scintigraphy and ultrasonography who all underwent parathyroidectomy (PTX).
Design: Longitudinal retrospective cohort study in patients referred for osteoporosis with mild biological primary hyperparathyroidism.
Background: [Ga]Ga-PentixaFor is a promising radiotracer for positron emission tomography imaging of several human tumors overexpressing the chemokine receptor-4 (CXCR4). CXCR4 overexpression has been demonstrated in patients with hematologic malignancies, solid cancers, as well as cardiovascular pathologies of inflammatory origins. However, its radio synthesis is not yet fully developed in France, and existing methods do not use our type of synthesis module.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTako-tsubo cardiomyopathy is characterized by a total reversibility of wall motion abnormalities of the left ventricle (LV) as well as normalization of LV ejection fraction after the acute phase. However, recent studies have shown that some patients present functional, metabolic, and morphologic abnormalities away from the acute phase suggesting an incomplete recovery of the disease. In this revue we discuss about this topic through several tools used in those studies (echocardiography, exercise test, MRI, nuclear imaging, biology, as well).

Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) is characterized by left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction with transient wall motion abnormalities (WMA). However, whether systolic performance fully recovers is unclear. Non-invasive myocardial work (MW) is a new tool to assess the LV performance, never described in this setting.

Yet, their automated calculation remains challenging. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether TMTV and Dmax features could be replaced by surrogate features automatically calculated using an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm from only 2 maximum-intensity projections (MIPs) of the whole-body F-FDG PET images.

The objective of this study was to develop and evaluate the accuracy of an indicator of the appropriateness of interventional cardiology acts (invasive coronary angiographies (ICA) and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)) in patients with coronary stable disease and silent ischemia, automated from a French registry.
Methods: All ICA and PCI recorded in a Regional IC Registry (ACIRA) and operated for a stable coronary artery disease or silent ischemia from January 1st to December 31th 2013 in eight IC hospitals of Aquitaine, southwestern France, were included.
Objectives: Assess the quality of dental restorations with simplified FDI criteria and examine its relationships with other general characteristics of restored teeth.
Methods: The study involved 76 dentists from private and hospital practices. Assessments of successes and failures of previous restorations used a simplified rating with FDI criteria 3 to 8, 11, 12, and 14.
