In recent years, there has been an increased interest in remote testing methods for quantifying individual differences in interoception, the perception of the body's internal state. Hampering the adoption of remote methods are concerns as to the quality of data obtained remotely. Using data from several studies, we sought to compare the performance of individuals who completed the Phase Adjustment Task-a new measure of cardiac interoceptive accuracy that can be administered via a smartphone application-supervised in a laboratory against those who completed the task remotely.

Interoception, the processing of internal bodily sensations, is associated with various mental health conditions. In particular, anxiety is often considered to be the prototypical interoceptive disorder. However, empirical evidence is mixed, with meta-analytic work reporting no relationship between anxiety and cardiac interoceptive accuracy.

However, interpretation of existing evidence in the cardiac domain is hindered by the limitations of existing tools. In this investigation, we pooled data from several samples to examine sex differences in cardiac interoceptive accuracy on the phase adjustment task, a new measure that overcomes several limitations of the existing tools.

To capture this feature we introduce a constant latency time in the standard voter model of opinion dynamics: after switching opinion, an agent must keep it for a while. This seemingly simple modification drastically changes the stochastic diffusive behavior of the original model, leading to deterministic dynamical oscillations in the average opinion of the agents.

Aim: to investigate the effects of the whole body vibration (WBV) and inspiratory muscle training (IMT) on the inflammatory profile and in muscle mass and strength in pre-frail older women.
Methods: this study was a randomized double-blind trial. Forty two older women aged 60-80 years were randomly allocated to IMT + WBV (G1), IMTsham + WBV (G2) or Sham groups (G3).
The combination of phytoremediation of soils contaminated by potentially toxic elements with energy production by combustion of the generated biomass can be a sustainable land management option, combining the production of renewable bioenergy with soil restoration while minimising energy consumption and CO emission. In this work, plant biomass from phytoremediation of soils contaminated by potentially toxic elements was studied as solid biofuel for combustion by thermal analysis and biomass composition. Six plant species were grown in two soils with differing degrees of contamination: Brassica juncea, Cynara cardunculus, Atriplex halimus, Nicotiana glauca, Dittrichia viscosa, Retama sphaerocarpa and Salvia rosmarinus.

During the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, these patterns were reshaped in their components: the spatial dimension represented by the daily travelled distance, and the temporal dimension expressed as the synchronization time of commuting routines. Here, leveraging location-based data from de-identified mobile phone users, we observed that, during lockdowns restrictions, the decrease of spatial mobility is interwoven with the emergence of asynchronous mobility dynamics.

Anemia is a common disease encountered in the community. It is characterized by a lower-than-normal level of red blood cell count.

The challenge is how to harmonize labor division to reach global competitiveness, meanwhile bridging productivity differences across the EU. We develop a bipartite network approach to trace pairwise co-specialization by applying the revealed comparative advantage method within and between the EU15 and Central and Eastern European (CEE).

Polychromatic glass elements usually require labor-intensive processes or are limited to film applications of secondary materials onto the glass. Previous research employs computer numerical control (CNC) based multi-channel granule deposition to manufacture polychromatic relief glass; however, it is limited in motion, channel control, and design space.

As such, it represents a paramount example of collective coordination action on social media, resulting in large-scale consensus formation and significant market impact. In this work we characterise the structure and time evolution of Reddit conversation data, showing that the occurrence and sentiment of GME-related comments (representing how much users are engaged with GME) increased significantly much before the short squeeze actually took place.

Rice is one of the major staple food crops worldwide, including arsenic (As)-polluted areas, in which dietary As exposure is becoming a widespread health threat. Plant chemical priming has been shown to be an effective strategy to enhance tolerance to environmental stresses, including metal(loid) exposure.

In this study, an uncommon case of third ventricle craniopharyngioma and a succinct review of its prevalence are presented. Even with low mortality rates, these injuries involve a high degree of endocrinological, visual, and neuropsychological morbidities, which have a huge impact on the patient's quality of life.

The usual treatment seeks to cover both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria by intravitreal injections of vancomycin and ceftazidime. In the present work, we sought to determine the physicochemical and microbiological stability of intravitreal syringes of vancomycin 10 mg/mL in order to be able to store them as long as possible to have immediate stock.

Certain macrophyte species have shown a promising suitability for their use in the phytoremediation of TEs contaminated soils under fluctuating flooded-unflooded conditions, as a consequence of their high resistance and tolerance to contamination. Similarly, different water conditions occur during rice (Oryza sativa) cultivation, a species often used as a model plant for TEs toxicity studies.

These forces sharpen social segregation, which is reflected in fragmented social network structure. Geographical impediments such as distance and physical or administrative boundaries also reinforce social segregation.

The urban-rural divide is increasing in modern societies calling for geographical extensions of social influence modelling. Improved understanding of innovation diffusion across locations and through social connections can provide us with new insights into the spread of information, technological progress and economic development. In this work, we analyze the spatial adoption dynamics of iWiW, an Online Social Network (OSN) in Hungary and uncover empirical features about the spatial adoption in social networks.
