Background: Childhood respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are common and can lead to unnecessary antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance. The CHIldren with COugh (CHICO) intervention incorporates a clinician-focused algorithm (STARWAVe) to predict future hospitalisation risk, elicitation of carer concerns, and a carer-focused personalised leaflet recording treatment decisions and safety-netting information.
Aim: To examine the implementation of the CHICO intervention by primary care clinicians.
Purpose: To investigate the relationship between the macular values of fractal dimension (FD) and lacunarity (LAC) on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images and the presence of peripheral retina non-perfusion areas (NPAs) on fluorescein angiography (FA) in patients with treatment-naïve diabetic macular edema (DME).
Methods: Fifty patients with treatment-naïve DME underwent a full ophthalmic examination, including best-corrected visual acuity measurement, FA, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, and OCTA. Specifically, FA was performed to detect the presence of retinal NPAs, whereas fractal OCTA analysis was used to determine macular FD and LAC values at the level of the superficial and deep capillary plexus (SCP and DCP).
Background: Clinical uncertainty in primary care regarding the prognosis of children with respiratory tract infections contributes to the unnecessary use of antibiotics. Improved identification of children at low risk of future hospitalisation might reduce clinical uncertainty. A National Institute for Health and Care Research-funded 5-year programme (RP-PG-0608-10018) was used to develop and feasibility test an intervention.

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between visual outcome and anatomic changes detected by traditional multimodal retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in DME eyes under treatment with Aflibercept.
Methods: Sixty-six DME eyes of 62 patients under treatment with intravitreal Aflibercept and with one-year follow-up were enrolled.
Objective: To assess whether an easy-to-use multifaceted intervention for children presenting to primary care with respiratory tract infections would reduce antibiotic dispensing, without increasing hospital admissions for respiratory tract infection.
Design: Two arm randomised controlled trial clustered by general practice, using routine outcome data, with qualitative and economic evaluations.
Setting: English primary care practices using the EMIS electronic medical record system.
Craniopharyngioma is a rare embryonic malformation, usually benign, of the sellar or parasellar regions. In this study, an uncommon case of third ventricle craniopharyngioma and a succinct review of its prevalence are presented. Even with low mortality rates, these injuries involve a high degree of endocrinological, visual, and neuropsychological morbidities, which have a huge impact on the patient's quality of life.

We investigated barriers and facilitators to running a more efficient design.
Design: An RCT aiming to reduce antibiotic prescribing among children presenting with acute cough and a respiratory tract infection (RTI) with a clinician-focused intervention, embedded at the practice level.
High blood pressure (HBP) has been associated with several complications and causes of death. The objective of the study was to analyze the hemodynamic responses in Paralympic bench press powerlifting (PP) and conventional powerlifting (CP) before and after training and up to 60 minutes (min) after training. Ten PP and 10 CP athletes performed five sets of five repetition maximal bench press exercises, and we evaluated systolic, diastolic, and mean blood pressure (SBP, DBP, and MBP, respectively), heart rate (HR), heart pressure product (HPP), and myocardial oxygen volume (MVO).

Thus, it is necessary to develop a tool that uses only the performance of short distances but is highly predictive, offering a time expectancy with high reliability. Such a test must use variables that are easy to collect with high practical applicability in the daily routine of coaches.

Objective: To analyze the effects of ibuprofen use on performance and oxidative stress in post-training PP athletes.
Methodology: Ten national level PP athletes (age: 27.
Background: Variable resistance training has recently become a component of strength and conditioning programs.
Objective: This randomized counterbalanced cross-over study aimed to investigate the use of elastic bands (EB) and the traditional method (TRAD) and force indicators in a training session.
Methods: 12 Paralympic athletes (age: 28.
Background: In Paralympic powerlifting (PP), athletes with and without spinal cord injury (SCI) compete in the same category. Athletes with SCI may be at a disadvantage in relation to the production of muscle strength and the execution of motor techniques.
Objective: To analyze the indicators force, dynamic and static, at different intensities, on performance in athletes with and without SCI.

Background: The sticking region is considered an intervening factor in the performance of the bench press with high loads.
Objective: To evaluate the strength indicators in the sticking point region in Powerlifting Paralympic athletes.
Methods: Twelve Brazilian Powerlifting Paralympic athletes performed maximum isometric force (MIF), rate of force development (RFD), time at MIF, velocity, dynamic time in sticking, and surface electromyography in several distances from the bar to the chest.
Millions of children and adolescents are living with a chronic condition. It is common for mental and behavioral health challenges to arise during their courses of illness. With the complexity of care needed, pediatric subspecialty providers have recognized the need to integrate behavioral health interventions into practice.

Unnecessary use of antibiotics is associated with the development and proliferation of antimicrobial resistance. In 2016, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-funded 'TARGET' programme developed a prognostic algorithm to identify children with acute cough and RTI at very low risk of 30-day hospitalisation and unlikely to need antibiotics.

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) has been identified as a crucial factor for the proliferation and survival of MM cells and the overexpression of IL-6 receptor is being studied as a molecular target for therapeutic and diagnostic use in myelomas and other comorbidities. Tocilizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that binds IL-6R.

The reported new anilinoquinazoline-icosahedral borane hybrids have been evaluated as glioma targeting for potential use in cancer therapy. Their anti-glioma activity depends on hybrids' lipophilicity; the most powerful compound against glioma cells, a 1,7-closo-derivative, displayed at least 3.3 times higher activity than the parent drug erlotinib.

Recently, we reported a novel 99mTc-HYNIC-cycMSH4-13 analogue with the HYNIC chelator directly attached to the lactam cyclized ring.
Objective: In this study we proposed the introduction of a 6-aminohexanoic acid (Ahx) linker between the HYNIC chelator and lactam cyclized peptide cycMSH4-13 to reduce steric hindrance and improve the melanoma targeting and imaging proprieties of the radiolabeled peptide.
