Objective: Analyze the perception of elderly widow women about their health situation.
Method: Descriptive and exploratory research, based on qualitative approach performed with 34 widowed women aged 60 years and over, enrolled in primary health care. It was used content analysis in its thematic analysis modality.
This is a national literature review that aimed to reflect on the prevention of breast cancer in the elderly woman. This curiosity arose from the observation of demographic transition and of course Brazilian feminisation of old age, which imposes specific demands assists and integrals for this population segment. It is emphasized the need to extend the knowledge about the problem, as well as overcoming the negligence in the prevention of this disease, especially in old age.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe descriptive study, with quantitative approach, that has had as objective to do the characterization of ill elderly at home attended by the ESF teams of the Satellite's District in Teresina - PI and to collect Nursing Diagnoses and it respective interventions. This descriptive study was constituted by 50 seniors interviewed at home, the results showed that most of the women in age between of 60 and 79 years were ill at home for one or five years at least. There were eight Nursing Diagnoses (ND) prevalent, in which 98% of the seniors were identified with the ND - Inadequate Control of Therapeutic Regime, and in 72% the deambulation was prejudiced with mobility's limitation and, for all diagnoses were proposed nursing interventions objectifying the conquest of autonomy and independence of these seniors.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFQualitative study whose objective was to argue and to describe the feelings and the expectations lived deeply for 28 women about oncotic citology in a unit of the Family Health Program in Parnaíba-PI, through an interview with script of opened questions. The results were presented in categories and evidenced that the majority of the women do not carry through the examination, even so they all affirm the importance of this, mainly for detention of illnesses. It was observed despite during the procedure, the feelings most recurrent between the women were: shyness, unreliability, fear, shame and pain.
